    Not impressed with Haibike

I wonder why they show the bike only from the left side. Just about every other bike is photographed from the right side...

    Battery

There's a two position switch. In one position, the throttle only works when you pedal. In the other position, it works normally but only after you start pedalling. Try using the throttle with the switch in each position. That might show whether it's a problem with the pedal sensor. You would...

    Not impressed with Haibike

There's an idler sprocket on the frame to lift the chain higher to clear the suspension pivot. That's necessary on some rear suspension bikes because of the small drive sprocket on the Bosch CX motors.

First time E bike rider in Australia with non working very neglected 4yo Aseako Sport (Tonaro)

The 9FET controller is most likely too big to fit in the compartment at the front of your battery, so you have to find somewhat else to put it. Also, you must make sure that your battery can deal with the extra current. Lastly, the extra current might damage the motor's gears. I wouldn't go...

    Brainpower 201907 on Fiido D2

P5 has settings 3 for three PAS levels and 5 for 5. You need to explain about the stuttering. I already answered about your horn and lights.

    Disregarding UK pedelec laws

You're quite correct. There were approximately 120 people, who became millionaires in the last year by winning the national Lottery. One guy went to jail for crashing his illegal bike. There was also the guy that was riding a legal bike legally when he crashed into a girl crossing on a red...

Which Donor Bike to start with?

There's no power marked on the motor. It's the same size and shape as any regular 250w motor. Nobody would ever question it. As I said, all these motors make the same power regardless of how they're marked. The Chinese mark them however they want for different markets and legal requirements.

Which Donor Bike to start with?

The power mentioned in the listings is absolutely meaningless. All these motors can handle and give the same sort of power as each other, which is around 1000w as long as you're sensible with them. They're all roughly the same size and weight. Basically, the bigger the motor, the more power it...

How to make a battery box ?

3mm plywood sheet is very easy. Cut the shapes and glue into a box. You have to make sure that any fixings on the inside can't dig into the battery. You can hold it to the frame with U-brackets made out of aluminium or stainless strip. Start with the strip that will be adjacent to the frame...

use small cells to bulid battery

Copper oxidises in air. It might be a good conductor, but if you want to use it for a battery, you need to protect it somehow, like nickel plating or tin/lead plating. I guess sealing it with heatshrink would work, but it has to be properly sealed against air getting in.

    Battery & charger advice please?

You can measure the voltage directly on the charger connector. Do not set your charger to lower than 4.2v per cell (71.4) or your battery will definitely go out of balance.

    Battery & charger advice please?

I wouldn't mess with the charger. I guarantee that it won't solve your problem. Just leave the charger on for a long time after you get the green light to rebalance the battery.

    Power cutting out on BBSHD

There's no temperature sensor that I can see. After over-current switch-off, the BMS normally switches back on by itself. That leaves low cell detected. I think my next step would be to spray some contact cleaner on the multi-pin connector and work it a few times, then put it all back together...

use small cells to bulid battery

That's right. It's never a good idea to put lithium cells in a metal container. Ideally, you'd want to put them in a plastic or fibreglass tube because heatshrink soon wears through if there's any vibration, and each cell is at a different voltage. At least the fire would be contained in your...

Which Donor Bike to start with?

48v is always better. You get 30% more torque and power from the same motor. It can make the difference between comfortable pedalling up hills and getting off and pushing.

    Battery & charger advice please?

Life isn't inked, so it must be a normal li-ion one. 71.4v is 17 cells. It's probably a bit out of balance and what you're seeing is the bleeding off of the high cells.

Is the extra 5 amps chewing up my range?

That rating is probably for the BMS. If it has crappy cells, they won't be able to cope with that.

    Battery & charger advice please?

Can you show us a photo of the charger's label? It's normal for a LiFePO4 battery to drift down after charging. The normal charging voltage for a 20 cell one would be 73v.
