    Brexit, for once some facts.

Nitrous oxide is widely used as "gas and air"/Entonox and in various mixtures during anaesthesia, and in "substance abuse". Trouble is: Nitrous oxide produces irreversible oxidation to the Co++ and Co forms that renders vitamin B12 inactive. The resulting low B12 level then causes neurologic...

Should obviously revamp the design to store using holes rather than electrons. o_O

With a limited range (I assume, otherwise it would be more chunky and you would not be offering a second battery), it might be very helpful if the charger could be clipped onto the bike somewhere. It is likely to be needed at both ends of a journey more often than on bikes with longer ranges...

    RECLAIM YOUR NAME

My partner, for convoluted but simple reasons, has been changing her name for years and years now. Item by item - NHS name, one bank, then another bank, DWP, etc. She is able to use one changed name as proof for the next - but as there is no urgency from her point of view, it has just proceeded...

A very ordinary cotton vest, a very ordinary office cotton shirt. A very inexpensive Decathlon down bodywarmer (that is mostly for keeping me warm in the office). And a snow jacket - which I bought early last year. Quiksilver have started dropping their prices and some are now about 30% off. I...

How was your commute this morning?

Whereas over here, it started snowing again around lunchtime, sometimes quite heavily. Temperature rose, but I think it will drop again now. Most certainly we will now have snow over ice - it is just smooth and white. Doubt I'll be going anywhere before tomorrow afternoon.

How was your commute this morning?

The night was cold. Windows on front of house look like heavily obscured glass. Opened garage door - took some effort due to ice and snow blown against it. All togged up. Got on bike in several inches of snow and actually enjoyed a few yards. Then realised that what looked to be clear patches...

Nor have I in the sense of knowing someone. But I have read a couple of mentions - I think regarding solid carbon dioxide in a confined space. Toxicol Rev. 2005;24(4):229-35. Carbon dioxide poisoning. Langford NJ1. Author information Abstract Carbon dioxide is a physiologically important gas...

How was your commute this morning?

I wouldn't call anyone any sort of failure for not cycling in this weather. (The fact that I have cycled to and from work every work day of the year so far, including today, doesn't mean I won't duck out tomorrow. Will have to see what it's like. The biggest single factor is safety.)

    Forum running really slow

More than I can do with Edge - ever! Scroll wheel often gets hijacked and scrolls left-right/back-page/forward-page, pages fail to render at all, refuses point-blank to pass PDF display over to the nominated PDF app, screws up displaying PDFs, can't print PDFs, etc., etc. Wish they had just...

Absolute minimum of £49 a month battery rental if you do less than 4,500 miles per year. Rising to £89 a month for 10,500 miles a year. With extra costs if you exceed the agreed mileage.

There are an awful lot of people who could not afford that sort of money for a car. The people who have to put up with what we quaintly called old bangers. And, as oldgroaner points out, the need for charging facilities within range. Whether that is in London or where they can afford their...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Renault Zoe prices not currently (ha!) available on Renault's site. WhatCar says £13,884-£21,879 for their good deal prices. And there is a six-month waiting list (or longer). Still means that those who cannot afford the £12,000 plus battery rental (and take the risks if they cannot keep up...

How was your commute this morning?

The ride home was far colder than this morning - though I think a thermometer wouldn't have seen much difference. -2 at home - or rather, on the car thermometer (as we had to go out and do a bit of shopping so as to avoid doing so on Friday evening or Saturday when it is predicted to be worse)...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

My very limited experience of trolley buses was in Newcastle-upon-Tyne (don't think they ever reached the Emlyn version ;)). There was a turnround loop just up from my grandparents' house and yes, I do remember a man with a very long pole. I also remember the phenomenally complicated catenaries...
