    Brexit, for once some facts.

Like the roads of a large part of London being the preserve of the rich who can afford Teslas, or laugh at the pathetically low cost (as it appears to them) of the charge.

Isn't ublock supposed to be less of a hog? That's what I am using.

    Forum running really slow

I too have been feeling it is slow. Most particularly when I jump from an alert into a thread - seems to take forever retrieving the thread contents and then presenting it. Mind, my broadband is awful - just 6Mbps - but that has not changed!

Change UK law to allow 30mph ebikes

A part of my morning ride is a 20mph road - and despite going at about that speed myself, and the horrible speed cushions, I am overtaken pretty much every day. So not much of a surprise...

So a neologism just for the idiot - stuplicity.

“We think that we can have very efficient facilitation systems to make sure that there’s no need for a hard border, excessive checks at the frontier between Northern Ireland and the Republic." This use of words like "excessive" is becoming ever more common as a bit meaning-removal. Set your...

How was your commute this morning?

Not my commute! But I did like the front picture on this BBC page: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/video_and_audio/must_see/43206037/siberian-blast-european-scenes-of-ice-and-snow It was a very loud ride in this morning. At least, that is what I think FF means...

Rohloff uses experience with using one "Thinking about buying one

Though a licence agreement could make that a moot point. :-) Only 9090 kr (about £832).

Rohloff uses experience with using one "Thinking about buying one

I appreciate that Rohloff are expensive, but is that because they are made in relatively small numbers by a company that puts a lot into making them to a high standard. Or could they be manufactured in vast numbers at a lower cost by a true volume factory - and still be decent quality...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Is Liam Fox so conceited as to believe beyond all possible doubt that his strings have never been pulled by agents of foreign powers and others who do not have the best interests of the UK population as their first priority? That was a rhetorical question, but I find it hard to avoid answering...

The bit that tory MPs lie and issue defamatory tweets should stick like extreme mud.

Did you have to post a picture of him? :-( It would be good to see others who have demurred from criticising Bradley to the extent of appearing to wholly endorse the original tweet now also snivelling. And if they repeat their words, which were effectively the same allegation, to be put in the...

"No injuries were reported despite the fact the cyclone brought winds of 330 to 345 km/h over Farquhar Sunday evening." 330 km/h is about 205 mph. I'll not argue the extra 23 mph. A graphic of wind speeds and names shows that there is huge overlap between hurricanes of various types (major...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Barbados_hurricanes With respect to the Seychelles, do we really need to be pedantic about the difference between a hurricane and a tropical cyclone?

Trouble is, looks like NAFTA is in severe difficulties itself. The renegotiations don't sound as if they are going well, and there have been plenty of suggestions that the USA could withdraw. It would appear rather odd for the UK to embark on a (possibly) sinking ship especially if it then...

Just 20 million dollars down. And a major solar electricity facility destroyed. And some of those consumers unable to pay their electricity bills - however shiny their meters and however fast-tripping their protection trips - due to Irma and the other losses it caused.

Very hard to find the silver lining delivered by, for example, hurricane Irma. Have you actually tried saying that to the inhabitants of Anguilla? Or wherever else.

Not at all sure that argument holds any water. What makes "us" more capable, richer and more developed than the EU27 countries? Any measurements? (Of course we have more of very many things than, say, Latvia or Malta, they are so small. But either scaling appropriately or looking at the top end...
