    Brexit, for once some facts.

By exporting economists to the EU? (And we wouldn't be able to afford to keep them.) So they then have all the brilliant economists...

China has the most amazing aircraft! My latest purchase from there tracked as departed country of origin 2016-02-16 23::20:00 - and I have to assume it is still up there somewhere. :-)

Agreed. Far more than 20 years a smoker, and a bit over 10 years clean. The smell of cigarette smoke is absolutely unbearable. I went through a period of phantosmia - smelling cigarette smoke where there was none. (Seems quite common in people who are hypothyroid.) For a few years, I was...

I couldn't locate anything which mentioned the actual heating effect on mouth, lips, tongue and even throat. What I did see where many discussions about the temperature setting which seemed to be somewhere around 200 C - but I do not know what that reduces to before taking it in.

Fine, I had noticed that, but my quotes specify hand or arm signals. There is no "or other indicator". And I was picking up the question regardless the details of one design but across all such enclosed cycles.

It seems to be implied by Transport for London: Signal. Use appropriate hand signals to indicate that you're turning left or right https://tfl.gov.uk/travel-information/safety/road-safety-advice/driving-and-cycling-safety Of course, TfL is hardly a definitive source. :) Also struck me to...

Just look at how many luxury flats/apartments/other homes have been created in the former hospital buildings and grounds! Some developers seem to have done very well out of the policy.

Is it legal to ride a cycle from which it is impossible to make hand signals?

And it just might be the heat, rather than the chemical composition, that is most dangerous. Apparently people who regularly drink very hot drinks are more prone to certain cancers. (I don't mean ordinary tea-or-coffee in a mug hot, but hotter than most of us would be willing to drink.)

Hello. How do you manage to post that in the driest week of the year so far - by inches! :-)

    Wireless battery charging for e-Bikes

More a case of "could be" than "is", don't you think? Time from now to widespread wireless is going to be many years. I reckon that a simple universal connection might be achievable in a much shorter period. If, as I half-suggested, there was an adaptor that I could fit to my bike which would...

    Wireless battery charging for e-Bikes

For now, I'd just appreciate the possibility of a single standard electrical connection! Where I work, there is an outbuilding where I can put my bike. Great. We could put sockets out there. But I'd have to buy another charger - or carry mine back and forth. We actually have lots and lots of...

That's fine as the theory. But can we simply forget to send a boat/helicopter/surfboard/aircraft carrier to pick him up? If a week is a long time in politics, six months is an eternity+plus+plus - easily long enough for the person responsible to have been replaced a dozen times. So no blame...

We had enough powdery hail/snow for the road to be white for about ten minutes a week or two ago. And that is it so far. Had been hoping even my 2.6" tyres might have had a job to do at some point. :-(

What annoys me about some posts

I have often found that a quote helps. Perhaps something relevant, or maybe not that relevant but that popped into your mind as you were writing - or reading the preceding thread. Wry, ironic, facetious, sarcastic - but often not overtly funny. A quote can slow down reading, make the person...
