    For PAS one has to change wire sequence Red to Brown, Black to Black & Yellow to Yellow. Yellow or Black is used for Gnd but when both are used Yellow is the sig. Again with throttle Red/ 5v needs to go to Red 5v, Black/Gnd to Black and the other two sig.

    The/a phase connection may have got to hot with the heat esp if the bike was being ridden up any steep gradients or even in to high a gear near to stalling speed. The bikes system/ controller will need testing but you can carry out a simple free test, disconnect the hub motor cable connector...

    Use another M33 lock nut so that one tightens against t'other, BBS for instance comes with two.

    That's the problem with online retailers, bikes will have to be boxed and returned for repair. Also warranty isn't transferable.

    I haven't seen a 6 pin listed, most are now 9 pin versions. Repairing won't be easy, quick or even very pretty splicing in a new connector of any type. It may be better to fit a new Freego hub motor if one can source one or a completely different sensored 9 pin hub motor and controller kit.

    The E6100 is a Shimano Steps drive as is the E5000 just one will be more powerful then the other in torque figures.

    I take the KT current control every day over a speed controller, in PAS1 I can achieve max speed of about 21mph without too much current. Thus saving range and power for hills and a longer ride.
