    Brexit, for once some facts.

The promise to honour the vote had no legal force, so the result was not binding. In our constitution the public cannot rule over parliament so every opinion of the public isn't binding. That includes general elections, since as subjects of the Crown the people elect a party, but that party...

As if we haven't amused Europe enough with our brexit shambles, we now have a British Airways plane bound for Dusselfdorf taking off from London City Airport and landing at Edinburgh instead. BA are blaming a paperwork mixup, though it seems only the pilot was involved in that since the rest...

Agreed. Votes started meaning nothing when Blair turned a Labour win into a pseudo Tory one, ditching Labour's socialist past. Now neither party gives a damn what the public want, just pursuing self interest policies. .

But of course parliament did no such thing. The referendum asked the public's opinion, the final decision only ever belonged to parliament. Given how indecisive the result was with the country fairly evenly divided, it's entirely proper for parliament to either make the final decision or go...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

It still could. The delay to the 12th has removed a bit of urgency, but one day there will be a final deadline which could get the deal through. That's more likely if the House gets control instead of the government, since that will panic the ERG into being more co-operative. And/or of...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Yes, it's looking increasingly like either a very soft Brexit with Customs Union to solve the backstop problems, or a second referendum. After the current record breaking petition, Remain will have to be one option in a second referendum. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

That article is delusional. No-one is saying there ever was a hard border. What is being said is the unavoidable fact that having Northern Ireland outside the EU and the Republic of Ireland in the EU creates a de facto economic hard border. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Having this question asked in the House is not the same thing as a mass petition from the people for a debate on it. Clearly many people are not accepting the No, and this was a question put to the public, not MPs, so they now want a final say. .

It will be about the petition title, whether to accede to this public request to revoke article 50 and remain in the EU. .

Like all other demands on the House, by the available parliamentary time. Of course that's in very short supply at the moment with all th Brexit deal issues, so expect the date for this debate to continue to be put back for a while. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

It's what I've long been posting. In a fresh referendum Remain would walk it, due to their greater determination to vote this time and the Brexiters despairing of getting the walk away they wanted. .

Just once, and we've never stopped reminding the world of that. Rather pathetic really, celebrating a match held over half a century ago. .

    What would you choose Now

It's incomplete, you left out the Remain option. .

Why not, we've been re-running general elections for centuries, and all football competitions too. .

Just give us another vote, if you dare. You wouldn't of course because you know what would happen. .

You're missing the important point Tommie, these days most of us do everything online. Just like those in here, many millions were following the event online and via TV, probably some 17 millions were there in spirit, in addition to those old fashioned types actually physically marching. .

    Hybrid cars

It certainly is, but it's one we'll get used to as the market adjusts and e-cars eventually in the longer term becoming the only option. We've already got used to it with e-bikes which at three or more years old are only worth a fraction of the new price, simply because we know we'll need to...

    Hybrid cars

I agree with the sentiments, but that will have to change to some extent. Take note I didn't say all car journeys, I only said anywhere, such as Andy's huge transcontinental journey. Most of today's personal car ownership and use will continue, but the very long journeys probably won't as...

    Hybrid cars

All been gone into by me long ago Andy, and I'm not disagreeing with most of what you've posted, though you have tried to paint the worst possible picture, which won't happen in most cases. For example, Nissan's Leaf is the world's most successful selling e-car and none have ever had a traction...

    Hybrid cars

This is a very big problem shared by over 25% of all properties nationwide, no access for home charging. Here in London, the ideal place for e-cars, its some 50% of all properties. However there are solutions here, for example we now have some 400 lamp post charge points from one expanding...
