DAPU Rear Hub motor do not run.

The controller phase readings aren't what I was expecting , the V+ reading on the green Green phase looks to be a failure meaning mosfet/s is bad. When ever I carry out phase testing I get about 9 ohm's on the V- side & 1 on the V+ side. I don't disconnect the motor phases and poke a probe...

Spare battery, High capacity or dual battery bike?

The factor to take in is do you plan on riding unassisted at all ? If the answer is yes then opt for the Alp or Gen 4 motor.

    Advice on E-Ranger cruiser please

It uses a decent hub motor a Bafang, one of the best you can get generally but no idea exactly which model of hub it is. For towing a high torque motor is best. Have a look also at similar options from Woosh, Wisper, Kudos & Juicy.

    New to site

The clicking noise is likely an electrical contact noise you can here, it usually means the controller isn't syncing correctly and delivers bad electrical signals. The firmware update may be part to blame esp if the controller has a data socket where this is plugged in to. You can personally...

    Bosch speed limit

The reason for the 250w 25km/h speed limit is exactly so that pedelecs can be classed as a normal push bike with light assist, it rules out any need to have a , helmet, motorbike licence, taking a CBT, having insurance or any mot, dvla licensing at all. It is not just Bosch but most legal OEM...

DAPU Rear Hub motor do not run.

It sounds like there may still be a short on the phase wiring, with and without the three phases connected the result should be similar and the wheel should rotate backwards with only slight resistance and a whirr as the internal gearing engages. As you have easy wiring for diagnosis carry out a...

Advice wanted for DIY Welsh commuter (Trek FX conversion?)

The small 6 mosfet KT's suffer with extreme heat on climbs and high assist/current use with faster wound RPM rated hubs, the controller might fair a bit better with a 201rpm hub. For hilly areas a 201rpm hub will far out weigh the use of a faster wound hub.

POWABYKE X-24 2011 LOOKING FOR BATTERY

Show us a pic of the bike, if it uses the bottle style looking battery then you need to get one from maybe ebikes direct or Powabyke themselves or another vendor of the bike. Other wise you can use any 36v battery of any Ah/wh capacity you like, some minor soldering with the wire connectors is...

My Probike now a donor for MTB (eMTB)

With the PAS I wouldn't have cut anything off until asked for advice. In theory if both connectors do use the same colours then they might be ok. KT controller pas wire is Brown /5v, Black/ Gnd & Yellow /Signal, is the PAS sensor a KT supplied one or did have a wire sequence order with it ...

    Freego bike won't go backwards

Well done glad you sorted the issue out your self and a simple get over, god knows what the final Halfrauds bill would have been. I expect they would have charged you for unwanted parts like new gears , chain and brake pads. With a few tools most bikes are pretty easy to work on and maintain...

    Yosepower hub kits.

Having two independent drives ( despite not legal) may have their uses. If wanting to run them as one, either two controllers or a dual drive controller as Sturmey had mentioned is needed. With two controllers The PAS and throttle could quite easily be controlled from one form of input by making...

    Freego bike won't go backwards

Looks like some maintenance is required, does it see a lot of rain or is it kept in a damp place ? Sticking freewheeling of gear cluster can be ruled out then . Check brakes aren't rubbing /binding and also mudguards. The only other thing I can think of is seized /rusty bearings in front axle...

    Update on N.I. e-bike regs.

Well said Ted, in this case unpleasantness or calling anyone out won't help the cause. Although Stormont are dragging their feet over this one, it won't be the only policy that needs signing off but certainly shouldn't be hard to do so.

Becareful with cable ties on wiring, pinching them to tight can cause the internal wires to break/short out.

    display gone bad

What deduction makes you say it "must be the display" ? Have you tested the mosfet/phase wires for resistance or checked out the hall voltages ?

    Freego bike won't go backwards

Seanoge if the freewheel/cassette rotates backwards freely then try lifting the motor wheel up to see if it also does so by hand. Inside the hub there is a clutch mechanism, three small springs are usually part of the mechanism. One of these may be broken or as Woosh has eluded to...

    Freego bike won't go backwards

If the drive rides ok then sounds like freewheel/cassette gear pawls may be sticking, do the gears freewheel when pedalled backwards ?

Total amateur - I have questions.

Fibreglass is quite easy to use but very smelly whether Epoxy or Polyester is used, it stinks until it has cured. For a battery case you need to make a mould /former up so you can lay up the matting on to it, ideally you need to make two halves then incorporate a method to join them in the...

    Cyclotricity 1000w controller

25a -30a but depends on the rated battery continuous output. 22a will supply about 800w continuous output at the wheel once efficiency losses are factored in.
