Help! Disposal or sale for spares/repairs?

Agree with Raboa place it on the online sites for collection only, spares or repairs, some one will take it but tbh there will more value to it by selling the bike as parts your self. Break it up your self and sell the parts separately online, parts will have more value as single items then as a...

Customisation of the Yosepower kit or other ebike kits

Yes, not bad going at all considering the mileage. Approx 9k - 14k.

Think a kit is the cost effective option, but at 18St 8Lbs, I may be wrong.

What would be ideal is the Aikema or Bafang G370 both lightweight and front wheel drive at about 42nm. The G370 I'm seriously considering on getting to mount on Swizzbee#1 to make the bike legal and quieter to ride.

Customisation of the Yosepower kit or other ebike kits

3v is quite a lot of sag so battery is tired, though if using max assist not surprising. Time to adjust battery management and use a lower PAS level at lower voltage.

Ok new kits, choice has been made. Steve has fwd hubs if he is happy with the ride experience then it might be an idea to stay with that solution as the new hub wheel should simply slide in with no fettling needed and utilise the more relaxing cadence pedalling of a hub kit. For 12 -25 miles...

Unfortunately some vendors are just that resellers and not have a clue on how to fault find. Obviously if you are not happy then it is your right to ask for redress/refund.

WIth NiCad or Nimh voltage makes little difference as long as the replacement Lithium voltage is similar, some 24v systems use 6s though 7s is more common. The hub will take a little extra voltage in its stride. My Swizzbee #2 was Nimh original voltage max was 28v - 28.6v but replaced them with...

If you have led/lcd display and it turns off the issue is an interruption between it and the battery, could be the wiring/connection or the battery mount contacts. Sometimes an internal battery fault may be the issue.

Customisation of the Yosepower kit or other ebike kits

Have a look at the power leads from the controller, compare them between both to see if they are thinner then 14awg as sometimes they are, thin awg can cause a bottle neck even if short and only 10 -16 cm long. At 33.5v lvc I wouldn't be too unhappy as it is good safety limit preventing to deep...

Help! Where do my posts keep going?!?

No issue selling as an ebike as long as you word it correctly as spares or repairs.

Help! Electric bike on cycle to work scheme

Importing that heavy horrible bike form China will incur anti dumping tax, vat and import duties. Anti dumping tax is approx. 80% on top of the bike price & 20% vat, etc etc. Is it really worth it, the stated weight for the 50ah bike is very conservative and expect it to be more like 35-40kg.

If you go down the route of only updating the battery for a re -cell, then call the guys at ebikebatteries.co.uk. tel. 020 8361 1790. The company is in London and Jimmy is the battery tech expert who is well known to those in the ebike world. Send him a pic of your batteries from all angles...

Think a kit is the cost effective option, but at 18St 8Lbs, I may be wrong.

I see a couple of options. 1. Buy complete new kits with battery and replace both. Cost about £500 - £600 each bike. 2. Keep the existing front hub (dependent on the motor wire connector) and buy a new controller/lcd with PAS, also buy a new battery either 24v or 36v to suit the current voltage...

As the bikes are pre 2016 from about 2008, being throttle/twist and go means they are legal only in the UK. As it stands not legal for EU use.

    The Law

And the relevance that clip has to this forum for UK pedelecs ? I see none as it is in America where they are highly strung with their insular views and don't have the more liberal outward thinking views of the UK/EU use of them. Certainly not an ebike but more scooter based but little...

Both bikes look like they use a lithium battery of some type lion or lipo, if that is the case all you need to do is buy new battery's or have your old ones re-celled (if it is possible )so that they will use the same mount and no need to make any other changes.

    Drop bar bike

Only legal motor whether hub or mid drive is a 250w rated /marked drive. 750w is not legal and if fitted to a bike takes it into light moped class. It is legal in parts of the former colony of America.

    Help! battery needs repair

Yes ride a round the block, the voltage should come down quite quickly. Should they vent then you will smell the electrolyte and if they leak you will notice the wrap discolour. Tbh honest I give you kudos for trying to save or get some use out of the battery pack but think it is damaged and you...

    Yose power kit

If the sensor gets squashed you need to get a wider a longer Bottom Bracket( square taper type) or replace it with a conventional two part disc/sensor. Before deciding you need to measure the gap between inner crank arm face and the Bottom bracket face.
