Restoring an unbalanced ebike battery (smart BMS/Neptune15)?

BMS whether generic or smart only balance at approx 60 -100ma, the smart versions allow you to set balance, charge and discharge V's as well as being able to remotely see cell/battery data on a phone or pc. Good cells even with a generic BMS should keep good balance what ever voltage you choose...

    Hall sensor voltage

SS41 hall sensors, ebay or electronic component store. If the halls don't switch between 0 & 5v when slowly rotating the hub then they need replacing, if you rotate the hub too fast you should see an average of 2.5v to show they are ok.

    Lockdown

I'm not totally locked down as I have a key worker job and running errands for the Mrs and her granny. Though I ride my bike many times a week locally have not ventured out on a proper ride, about 10 miles is the most I have done for a while. With part of my time I am carrying out essential ext...

    Viking eco power issue

I don't think your current one is original because of the bent sensor. Some only use 5 poles so a 8,10 or twelve will or should give a smother and quicker pick up. Get the twelve and if it doesn't play ball remove every other magnet.

    Viking eco power issue

If you need a battery they will likely be a generic case type which you can see on ebay. You are right I got mixed up with Freego PAS thread , your disc will be the same one size wise...

    Viking eco power issue

Some of those bikes use a 24v or 36v system, the charger or battery will tell you the voltage. Before wasting money and buying a new battery see how the battery performs under load, once the PAS is sorted. Temporary wire up a cheap voltage meter to the power wires between battery & controller...

    Viking eco power issue

The hub generally looks pretty good inside, you can slap more grease in if you wish, I use dark moly grease. There looks to be salt crystals on the motor I would clean that up. Sort the PAS disc and sensor out first & try it before outlaying money on any upgrades.

    Viking eco power issue

It appears to me that the disc has been replaced with a smaller diameter one and the sensor has been bent so that it gets a signal, the signal pickup might not be 100%. You need to buy the proper larger disc, I posted three options to buy. If the disc isn't tight on the axle and is also tight to...

    Wisper 905

Error 30 is comms error, this means something between the controller and display of which there are only three items. The controller, display or the trunk cable between the pair.

    Viking eco power issue

The pedal assist or we call it PAS if it works on the flat terrain will work on inclines, the limiting factor for inclines is the motor rpm winding, controller current or an ageing battery so the answer isn't an easy this or that. Likely looking at the bikes condition if it hasn't been used much...

    Ebikes

Hard to say depends so much on the weather as no two years are the same, as they are static they vary from year to year. Not all are honey production colonies as they may be swarms or splits made to prevent swarming. I can only generalise as for me I don't need to make a living out of them 40lbs...

Help! Rebuild of Existing Dillenger Kit

29e cells are the business as long as you don't want more then 18 - 20a occasionally, only two cells are better for cycle life longevity and both LG.

    Magnetic disk

All three I have linked to will fit, £14 is a tad over the top also when you add the £3 p&p it is a bit expensive. The ETC one is exactly the same as well and £10 delivered. And the cheap one also is the same and you get the sensor for spare as well.

15th April mine expires, my garage is closed. Started raking out my rear house wall westerly facing today, the mortar is soft and porous, picked up a borrowed 6' x 4' 18 ft scaffold tower on Thursday and can keep hold of it for as long as I need it. A long with my other jobs and duties I...

Wading through water over the electric hub

With any water at or above the axle I would open the hub as some stage to check for any water damage as a precaution, during the floods I rode my bike several times through water up to 16" deep. Last week I gave the Norco a good service new drive train etc and a hub mini service, no water...

    Panasonic batteries for old newbie

Going to China might be costly if the battery has a fault and also the extra duty to import Lithium items. At the mo delays are inevitable so may not see anything for months.

Controller MOSFETS and question on failure.

Yes the shunt resistors on the integrated controllers which get smaller and more compact have in the main done a way with U shaped metal shunts and the resistor/s and now use the solid state type. D8veh/Vfr mentioned in the past one could still increase the resistance/current of these by piggy...
