I didn't type the sentence very well Bob, I should have said I use the bike to visit and check the livestock. My live stock are honey bees Bob. I have seven colonies, my transport locally is 95 - 99% my bike and a Carryfreedom flat base trailer. The hives are static ones, the bike combo is used...

    Magnetic disk

You can use any disc if the diameter is the same as your one. It's unusual for them to break make sure the sensor is also undamaged. If you want to try and get an exact replacement then ebikesdirect took over the spares for Freego's after they went into liquidation, other wise post a pic of...

Maths a bit out there 24v is usually 7s, fully charged is 29.4v. 28v is only 4v per cell group. Also 20v is too low though most spec sheets use 2.8v as a minimum, with mine 22.4 - 23v is the lowest I go which is 3.2/3.28v per group. The avatar bike is the 24v Swizzbee and I see 16a...

GTECH E-Scent MTB - Motor Issues

Not forgetting with any hub or mid drive they all have a terminal motor rpm and when that rpm speed is reached backemf (electrical speed saturation) come in to play, current ramps down as does the speed if your legs aren't strong enough. My Bafang CST hub I have set the speed for 16.5mph cut...

Assistance getting less the faster I go ?

It should help as your cadence will be lower so rpm is lower you might get another 2 -3 mph before you feel the speed/current ramping down as you reach the BEMF limit again.

GTECH E-Scent MTB - Motor Issues

In that case it is working correctly, don't forget the weight of the hub is very central so is a bit of a dead weight to rotate. Any hub is hard/very hard work on an incline without power even in low gear.

GTECH E-Scent MTB - Motor Issues

An easy test with out battery power is to lift the back wheel and by hand rotate it forwards, there should no resistance and the clutch freewheel should allow it to spin a few turns. try it backwards and you will feel a bit of resistance as there is no clutch freewheel in that direction.

GTECH E-Scent MTB - Motor Issues

With no power the extra motor/kit weight is noticeable, however in low gear you should be able to quite easily pedal the bike on flat terrain as the hub has a freewheel for forward propulsion, once moving changing up gear should pose no problem to go a bit faster.

Assistance getting less the faster I go ?

The 250w speed of 16mph suggests it is speed limited as the 500w setting is greater. The mid drives are geared for certain rpm/cadence speeds so at 20mph when you feel the current reducing is because the cadence has reached the max for the drives rpm ratio. A larger chain ring will reduce the...

    Ebikes

Not in the remotest way amusing/funny or even laughable, more like childish behaviour of a bored keyboard warrior with a loathing for another. Behave and grow up FFS as SW would put it.

Simply put 400 means 400wh or about 11ah capacity for a 36v battery. 4 levels of assist by way of the handle bar display, each level giving variable amounts of current/watts to the drive system. Eco is the low level of power through to Turbo which is the high level of power.

Assistance getting less the faster I go ?

Current ramps down as you hit the hubs terminal rpm limit (motor winding), as mentioned back EMF comes in to play. When you drop the speed the back EMF is no longer an issue so the hub rpm can increase again until it all begins over again. What is the no load speed of the hub on full throttle ?
