    no need for high cadence

There's a shortage of conclusive evidence for causation, but an abundance of associated evidence, including much online. What is certain is that arthritis, which is wear damage, is normal and very common in older age. It doesn't suddenly appear, it very gradually develops with joint wear and...

Not so. Your victims were their partners and I was not saving them. I was posting in protest at your repugnant attitudes, since they have no place in decent society. .

Both unnecessary and irrelevant with institutional origins. Mentioning May's husband just indicates sexism, a failure to fully accept that a woman as PM is normal. Male PMs don't have their wives mentioned frequently, often not at all Mentioning Varadkar's partner indicates homophobia on the...

Does getting an e-bike mean you eventually give up "conventional" bikes??

I'm thinking of Suffolk and most of Norfolk which are predominantly quite flat, as is much of Cambridgeshire. I still maintain that East Anglia is overall one of the flatter areas of this country. .

A bit like Scotland in relation to the UK. They have their own parliament and government looking after almost everything but defence and diplomacy, yet have 59 MPs for the UK's administration in the House of Commons. Their position is almost exactly like that of the Isle of Man or any of the...

    Accident - what to do....

Follow Neale's advice, but for getting home with your bike, you could call that taxi company and say in view of the accident, the least they can do is give you and your bike a lift home. .

Correct. It's 62.5% of my Italian surname and a friendly way many have addressed me over time, especially in my army years. In some languages (but not in Italian) it refers to wool or fleece. .

Does getting an e-bike mean you eventually give up "conventional" bikes??

The weird thing is how they are most popular in fairly flat areas, Central London is hardly the Alps of course, and a phenomenon we discussed long ago. They took off early in East Anglia which is famously flat, but in hilly areas like my North Downs they never have, I don't see any. And the...

Bring back the old format web

Trouble is the change was due to the site host's changes and many of the things disliked not under the control of pedelecs. I'm afraid that fashions change, and the web is as much prone to that as any other part of life. Just look at computing now with its tiles and apps instead of menus and...

No you aren't obsessed with it, I posted "why does anyone have an obsession with it" since it's clear a number in here do. When you started posting here I immediately thought you were a change of identify of someone unpleasant who stormed out long ago and now trying to be smart. Some of your...

If it gets that far, but I still think TM's deal could get through out of fear at the deadline. That only needs a small minority of the House to give in. .

I don't know why anyone has an obsession with this? What does it matter if anyone does change their online name, they are almost all fictitious anyway. There can be many reasons for changing it and deceit is only one of the many. One of our most widely respected contributing members has had...

He did nothing of the sort, he only provided a possible explanation for the uncivilised behaviour as others responses show. That doesn't in any way imply approval of it. Nor does it justify you calling him a nazi. .

Unless Theresa May's last minute cliff edge tactic gets her deal accepted. That only needs 51% of MPs to let their fear of No Deal triumph, which is perfectly possible, since it will also preserve their jobs for another three years. .

Aviva's name was of course Norwich Union, showing just how little location means to these companies. They just position themselves for best advantage, and increasingly that will no longer be in the UK. .
