    G-tech bike,has anyone seen a proper test

As a range extender behind a decent lipo pack yeah, maybe, but then a very small percentage of people ride over 100 km in a day.

    Number Two

Controller conversion Today I added XT60 plug and speed sensor to the 09 controller as per d8veh's tutorial linked above. What does she mean "your bar looks like a bike shop from hell"? Note the tiny electronics grade cutting pliers! All went well except that my black wire was much...

[Jul 2, 2016] Join la TransMâconnaise in Burgundy ! (Mâcon)

That is the test: if you can't sit on a bike you have had too much wine :D Seriously after the night out in San Sebastain the 38 km ride home is quite sobering. By the time I get off the cycle paths (empty in the wee hours of the morning) and on the open road the head is already much clearer. By...

News: ‘Twist and go’ type approval guidance emerges

Walk assist doesn't supply enough power to start off in my case, only about 40 W.

News: ‘Twist and go’ type approval guidance emerges

Yesterday I used my lipo pack in town for the first time (I have only been using on the open road) what a revelation! Even at lowest assistance levels I spent my time just turning the pedals so that the PAS would kick in, the power is amazing! Similar to riding around town with the bottle...

Best lightweight kit for road bike

Buy a cut off button Or use a hidden wire brake sensor. You can buy both in the UK with obscene mark-up or from China with ridiculous postage, your choice :D If you are a cyclist you just want assistance on red light take off and up steep hills. A bog standard legal 250 W BBS0x will give you...

Road and light trail tyres needed

The flexible side-wall is the main difference with my Michelin balloon tyres. I have bought Big Bens for Number Two which are similar but with rougher tread, can't wait to try them. I stuck to 2" width so that I can fit mudguards and get the rear wheel out through the frame lock without deflating.

News: ‘Twist and go’ type approval guidance emerges

My controller (bog standard Chinese 15 Amp KT-LCD3) has two modes for throttle programming. It is a bit tricky you have to modify values in the "P" and the "C" parameters. It comes set as walk assist standard - about 40 W so won't move the bike with me on it but you can set it to full power. P4...

Innovative idea for a hover board battery?

I see Samsung on the blue plastic wrapper what version of the Samsung cells are they? I am guessing the ones that go up in smoke are not Samsung cells but rather lipo pouches? You want to put 4 of those wired in parallel for 17.6 Amps. A 350 W motor with a 17-18 Amp controller will give you...

    Conversion kits

Changing max speed back to 25 km/h after an accident is not something I would try with a broken wrist! While you are KO on the road a well intentioned person with pedelec and LCD knowledge could change your max speed to above the legal limit to preserve his insurance premium.. Now there is a...

News: ‘Twist and go’ type approval guidance emerges

If it was legal to sell a bike with an unplugged throttle all the Chinese imports I see in supermarkets here would have them. It is legal to sell a bike with a throttle mounted if it acts as a walk along assist button. Why don't you all just sell your bikes with the throttle in walk along...

    Batribike problem - cut out.

Are those stacked 10 high? That would be a 15 Ah 36 V battery Do they look puffed up? If yes be very careful with them and they need to be correctly disposed of.

What is the advantage of 36volt over 26volt?

More powerful, V x A = W. I have ridden a 24 V bike (26 V hot off the charger) and you can feel the difference on the hills in both power and speed. flecc will the Panasonic 26 V controller handle a 36 V battery?

Gear hub for Bafang bbs01 mid drive kit

Tesla co-founder says hydrogen fuel cells are a ‘scam’

Then it has to be compressed and stored in a container that will survive an accident (heavy by nature) then it is used to produce electricity again with more losses. The losses over the cycle are they worth the "convenience" is the question. Wouldn't it be more convenient to have more fast...
