So went to Decathlon and wouldn't you know! They only do screw on freewheels on their 28" wider wheels... I said OK I'll take an 11-28 screw on freewheel  and the guy shrugged and gave me my money back. To cut a short story even shorter, ordered from Taylor Wheels (and saved 1.66€...

BH eMotion Neo Cross Status AND Pros and Cons of Local Dealership

I pop in every now and then to the showroom in S. Sebastian and I like the look a whole lot. They look very well finished and the Yamaha and Brose bikes are the ones I prefer.

Mid-Motor - highest assist level and no speed restriction - battery life

You lose a whole heap below 36 V D8ve. The lipo cliff on my Multistars is around 35.4 V (3.54 V per cell).

Vertical battery and bottle on down tube: why is it uncommon?

I liked the way SLAs were sometimes carried vertical on the rack: - CG is kept low - the weight is directly over the rear axle This to me is a much better solution than in a cage on top of the rack.

News: ‘Twist and go’ type approval guidance emerges

Below is the legislation in detail in the "langue de Molière", Google does quite well at translating it. It goes to show that a country inside the EU can sway the rest if the Union to adopt particular laws, maybe the UK could do the same with full speed throttles on pedelecs? --- Depuis 1992...

Tesla co-founder says hydrogen fuel cells are a ‘scam’

http://electrek.co/2016/05/23/tesla-founder-marc-tarpenning-hydrogen-fuel-cells-scam/ I agree with this. And the same goes for rapeseed oil replacing diesel when it is planted, harvested and transported by diesel fuelled vehicles to far off manufacturing plants powered by non renewable...

I feel your pain, I am glad that I am in the EU - no throttles. Did that help?

All the bits* have arrived, score: England 1 - Germany 0, the motor got here first! :D * MIA the rear wheel, I grabbed one from the rack at Decathlon without looking too closely because I was in a hurry. Wrong width, 13 mm instead of 19 mm 700C! So tomorrow I get to go back and exchange it...

    G-tech bike,has anyone seen a proper test

Look up Hebie Chainglider. It can be fitted to a chain driving a Nexus 8 Inter (or Rohloff) and achieves the same goal as a belt drive for much less €$£. You need a frame with horizontal dropouts for it to work

    New Gtech ebike

I dreamt of putting a mid-drive on a Winora Labrador when I first got into this pedelec lark last year. But it has an eccentric BB shell (note to Bafang et al - design a motor adaptor for eccentric BB shells). An old model was on promotion at 1500€, when you know the sum total of all the bits...

New Specialized Turbo Levo models (hardtails, fat bikes)

A range of 51 e-bikes and not one that ticks all my boxes! OK so I am the niche market client by excellence but come on, why so little variety in frame shapes?

    Gravity + ?

Better by design: - they are un-powered wheels so they turn at different speeds - if you go too fast in many situations the single rear wheel will lose grip and slide - you are braking with two wheels so it stops quicker -... A classic trike with single wheel on the front needs to have a very...

    Bafang 350 watt BBS01 - could I sell it?

They are the same motor and controller. The stamping in the casing is different and the controller is programmed in the factory BUT a programming cable is available and many "250 W" motors have been reprogrammed to 18 amps (along with other values). Actual Amps would be 7 A x 36 V = 252 W and...
