Woman fighting for life after 'e-bike' hit-and-run in east London

Now the video shows how clearly she was at fault and the cyclist's speed reasonable, the police will have little option but to drop the "Furious driving charge". I doubt they could make it stick. It's just a pity he ran off without reporting an accident leading to third party injury, since...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Very Unionist responses! Unionist verbal agression doesn't work in the UK mainland Tommie. I'm old enough to know the disgraceful way that N.I Catholics were treated by Unionists prior to the 1970s, and the fact that the British Army was sent in to protect them from Unionists. Your...

Strange Problem with 2 week old 705SE - 30 miles on the clock.

I agree with Neale's above post Anthony, there won't be any ill will in here over a single problem issue. The forum could still be useful to you on a future occasion and you might be able to help others at times from your own e-biking experiences. .

Drivers behaviour witn pedestrians needs to improve too. Too often they are thoughtless when with a little consideration they could make pedestrians lives much more pleasant. Such things as, when it's safe, letting pedestrians have precedence at junctions, stopping within a long stream of slow...

Fully agreed Tom, it's good to see that I'm not alone in my views of Frank Field. I've been strongly critical of him before in this forum. He's always been self-seeking in the guise of supporting the weak, but this resignation shows his true inner nature. Not a pleasant one. .

Didn't I point out yesterday that is due to the the member countries and not the EU? And now Woosh has made the same point. In fact I've reminded you of this relationship many times, so what is it with you that fails to recognise this? Despite this truth you still repetitively and wrongly...

Doesn't it say this? "the commission has set as its goal the creation of “a better workplace for all – including women, staff with disabilities, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual and intersex (LGBTI) staff and older staff”. Note, "for all, including" Ergo black and ethnic minorities are...

Inevitable once his clear photo was out. Reporting an accident where injury has occurred is mandatory, so running away from the scene and leaving someone seriously injured might put him in line for a custodial sentence, regardless of whether he committed a cycling offence. .

Seems like the kids were just enjoying themselves with some added fun and there's no law against them riding on that road. The roads are for all road users, no matter how slow, and drivers need to chill out, relax and accept that fact. .

That is already the law for mobility vehicles and I agree it should be for all wheeled devices on pavements. 4 mph is about the maximum walking speed in normal walking so nothing on pavements should be faster. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Forget your bigotry about the EU for a change and open your mind. The EU has an unelected Commission whose decisons can be overruled by the EU parliament. The UK has an unelected House of Lords whose decisons can only be overruled under certain circumstances. That makes the EU more democratic. .

It isn't fully a democracy anyway, the Commission appointed. That's intentional since the path to union wouldn't be possible by getting 28 countries to agree everything. It only becomes a parliamentary democracy when union as one country is achieved, at which point the Commission is disbanded. .

Yes, I know from when I lived in France just how bad the racism can be there, especially for anyone black. My uncle used to supply basic food items from his delicatessan to some black households, but did it after dark out of fear that his white customers would see and stop their custom. I...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I was only teasing, I agree that the lack of minority representation In such as the EU Commission and Parliament is very wrong. As far as the parliament is concerned though, minority candidates have to stand to be elected, so either they are not standing or selection discrimination in member...

Finkelstein is absolutely right with his accurate description of what is going on in the attacks on Corbyn. I've long maintained exactly the same, not only on respect of Corbyn but over the inaccurate aspects of this Jewish "international" definition of anti-semitism. It's nothing of the sort...

Might be an idea to inform the supplier, they could all be coming out this way. Not as unlikely as it might sound, there was a period in the 1990s when a Fiat Tipo model was suffering a left - right component swap in manufacture for a long time. They even stubbbornly refused to believe me for...
