It should have come with the bike  that really annoys me. Here pay big £s for your bike you will love it P.S. if you need the brakes set bring it back to your dealer  My brakes were a kit I mounted and the Torx key is of course in my onboard tool kit.

Front hub motor/kit with roller brake

What is that chain guard made from? Looks like a fabric of some kind? If it is: - Scrap it - mount a BB kit - add another chain guard that works with your BB motor That rear rack is too fabulous to scrap so that you can put a battery rack there, put your battery in a pannier bag.

    adjusting rim brakes

I know, I know, I know :D You have to release the brake from the fork and push the pads in so they touch the rim. Squeeze the brake lever gently so that there is 1 mm gap then reattach the brake. It may take you one or two tries to get it right. There is a good video on YouTube that shoes the...

    Does bicycle weight really matter?

I can't answer this on an open forum, one never knows what the future may hold. I'll just say that after studying French and EU pedelec laws and using a particular form of French business it is possible. Please, you are English... noun: donor; plural noun: donors synonyms: giver, contributor...

Cadence Sensor, Torque Sensor or Throttle?

It is no good then... My motor starts after the third magnet has passed the sensor i.e. about 1/3 of a rotation. The kick in isn't sudden - unless you are in assistance level 5 and the battery is fully charged in which case yes, you will be shot forward against the nearest hard object. You only...

    Does bicycle weight really matter?

It isn't about the money! I wrote a business plan for building tailor made pedelecs, I don't have the capital to start so it isn't going to happen, my target was to sell up to 35 bikes a year from a starting price of 2300€. I could imagine building a one off for someone with deep pockets for...

    Fantic Fat ebikes

I think that a small format touch screen tablet instead of the cheap Chinese console supplied with kits is a good idea. It is connecting a small computer to your controller and you get the added functions computer control can bring. I would prefer a USB connection over Bluetooth because the...

Freego raptor or another ...advice pls

Thanks for the correction I modified the price of the brake conversion for hydraulic cantis. There is a huge weight savings with hydraulics if you are aiming at staying below 15 kg. My next build will have hydraulic rim brakes saving unsprung weight in the front wheel and almost 1 kg in weight...

Difficulties getting an e-car, Part 2

The French are just as good as the Italians when it comes to electronics. The make you mostly see on flat bed trucks here is Peugeot, I had friends who had Peugeots and well you just stopped asking where their car was (answer: at the garage). Now when it comes to electronics the Germans... oh...
