    Battery layout.

For 10a cells or greater then the flow would be uneven and heat may be an issue, for only 5 or 6a rated cells it would be ok , though more current would still flow through the center buss. The current flow through middle series buss will be greater then the outers so will mean a hot spot which...

Power Systems and Battery Chemistries Used in Electric Vehicles

Spot on there WP, people don't think about it enough. Cars have the advantage of a large floor area for 1000's of cells, the parallels alone are a huge number compared to e-bikes that often only have 4 or 5.

First time E bike rider in Australia with non working very neglected 4yo Aseako Sport (Tonaro)

The Tonaro drive/crank isn't a standard looking set up so what bearings are involved you won't know until it is dismantled/removed to have a look, looks like you or someone will have to get the spanners out as to speak. The play may be within limits of manufacturing and not to much to worry...

Hello from Malta. Need help please

The learn wires I believe only sense the correct motor spin direction. It is possible the phase is out of sync and that you may have to switch the 3 phases around to find the best solution, it is not a given that matching wire colours will always work with phases on e-bikes. Also if it is a...

    Wiring

You have a sqaure wave (unsensored controller) and a sensored hub cable. The blue, yellow & green are motor wire phase connections so mate with corresponding w wires from the motor.

    Battery layout.

With most batteries a single thin parallel bus is only needed as current doesn't needed to flow sideways but to the next cell in series, in the case of the X method the current is required to flow to the center of the X to the copper buss so in this case the nickel needs to be able to handle...

    Battery layout.

If you have spare nickel H strip it is probably made up of 7.5mm x 015mm and is a uniform size, it is 1.125mm2 so it's ampacity is 5.01a optimal & 7.44a acceptbale. Optimal it the best current flow without any undue heating, acceptable is the current flow allowing for some heating. There is a...

    wire

They are hall sensor wires for sensored hubs they are for sine wave controllers , they have a white 6 pin block each colour matches the same colour in the block. Most hubs are capable of running unsensored though a bit noisy if your controller has only the 3 phase wires then you have a square...

    Battery layout.

For best current share I would try a build like this. I remarked your pic so a bit crude with paint lines. Place an extra insulator on all + ends. Wrap each cell with Kapton tape (on top of the original shrink), hot glue together won't shrink or melt Kapton or use grip fill for a better bond...

    Exploding Pinarello

A lot of this **** is because builders (diy) of batteries think all you need to do is weld batteries together or even worse the cowboys who solder cells together. How many actually think about how easy it is for the flimsy heat shrink to melt and cause a short when the buss bar gets hot and...

Will a legal hub benefit from more amps?

The little Yose hub (cst) still appears to be hardy @48v. My one I believe is 280/290 rpm and with a 20a KT have seen 28mph on the flat, may have got a bit more if I had more then 48/11t top gear. Still super impressed with mine and not burnt it out yet.

    Advice on converting recumbent trike

A mid drive may be better for a trike with small wheels BBS01 or the 250w 48v TSDZ although torque sensor you can have the throttle as well so best of both worlds in a sense.

    What is my range?

By the sounds of it your 60 miles used up 15 - 20% of the voltage range/capacity. In an earlier thread you said 10 hrs to full charge and 1.5hrs to top up full charge so about 15% or so used up. I would be inclined not to charge up every time unless you are doing far more miles. My guestimate...

Wisper Wisper 905 battery replacement(behind seat post model)

Give David @Wisper a call as he can recell/provide a replacement or send it to Jimmy @BGA for recelling with better quality cells ne will reuse the existing BMS and price is a lot cheaper then anew complete battery. No doubt David will reply to you on this thread as he keeps an eye on anything...

    What is my range?

Although voltage drop isn't linear so not a good way to try and calc range just out of interest what was/is the SOC after 60 miles ?
