Is the PAS connector on the controller compatible with a torque sensor? Is the PAS connector on any controllor compatible with a torque sensor or do I need a torque sensor specific controller? Sorry for being slightly off topic Tony

Is there space for a controller in a "normal" flat bottle battery case? Is it possible to take off the controller's aluminium casing to make it fit if it is too large with the casing? Sorry, more questions to come I am sure... Tony

OMG pedelecs get the Branson stamp of approval, now everyone and their dog will want one! I love how from the article one gets the impression that the good idea was his... Al Gore invents the internet, Richard Branson invents the pedelec:eek:

BMW Cruise e Bike - any good?

http://www.gizmag.com/bmw-limited-edition-cruise-m-bike/36941/ Executive summary: not designed by them, off the shelf components, they have been making bikes for 60 years. (yes I know the article isn't about a pedelec)

    Where do I buy spokes?

Thanks d8veh for your science. I was looking at spokes on bikediscount.com and the lengths they stock work with standard hubs but are either too long or too short for hub motors. Apparantly no one is building their own Rohloff or nexus wheels because those would require a similar length I am...

    Where do I buy spokes?

Hello another technical question. I used the Grin Tech spoke simulator to simulate spokes for a Bafang motor. Then I went looking for spokes online and only found spokes that are far too long. Do I have to buy long spokes and cut them and rethread them myself? Or is there a source for shorter...

What Election Result would have been with PR

First the French would have to vote on whether to let you in or not as you would no longer be European... In fact I'm not sure that you are Europeans even now anyway... :p

    Two wheel invalid carriages

The OP forgot people who don't have a car. A pedelec can be the primary and sole means of transport for some people. Because they can't afford to buy and run a car or because they can afford to buy one but don't want to for other reasons. Quite frankly I don't have the money to buy a bike with...

    Server issues/downtime

I'm very sorry but you can! You can code it in JSP (or GSP - Groovy/Grails). I have never had a JSP site hacked (but according to the logs they have tried). Now for me that says something about the difference between PHP and Java as languages and their take on security. Despite it being way...

How many electric trikers are on the forum ?

I like the noomad system which can be adapted to any rear hub or crank drive electric bicycle. A wee bit pricy but you get twin disks at the front and it isn't too wide. Tilting when riding isn't as extreme as the photo where the unit is shown alone. http://www.noomadbike.com/

    Server issues/downtime

They will go after anything. I gave up on PHP for my boating site because I didn't have the time to patch every other day. Now I watch the logs and laugh at all the PHP exploits they are trying against plain old HTML.

    Shimano casette with ball bearings!

I removed all the gunk, chucked in some grease and rebuilt the ball bearings for now (after removing the stub of the broken spoke). I could borrow the correct tool from my LBS and respoke the wheel but the bearings although regreased are shot (pun intended!) and the whole wheel is destined to be...
