    Update on N.I. e-bike regs.

It appears to be with the authority of the Chief Constable, since he instructed the writer to reply on his behalf. The mention that it will be passed to all officers for compliance certainly carries that authority. .

First Road Legal S-Pedelec in the UK?

The strange thing is that this is very much a British complaint, just like the fuss kicked up about throttles not being allowed. Through the rest of Europe and other countries with the same laws there's nothing like all this fuss about either. In some countries it never gets a mention. The...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I know there isn't one. Since any gain in sovereignty is apocryphal, freedom of movement will continue and we will still be conforming to most EU rules in order to trade, there is only one proposition left, that it will enable worldwide trading that hasn't been possible up until now. But that...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

If that happens it will have two effects. The first is that the longer we drag it on, playing for time, the tougher the EU demands. In keeping with that, the intrinsic divisions in a coalition would make concessions to the EU more certain. End result, Brino. .

It's fun, just don't take it too seriously. In other words, treat the thread content like you would politician's promises. .

Don't forget this is an international forum with many overseas members who have different laws. For that reason we have a forum entitled Speed Pedelecs (S-Pedelecs), Non-EAPCs & overseas. There's also the MTB section with mostly off-road riding. In addition some members also have homes and...

    Update on N.I. e-bike regs.

There are just over 2 billion Facebook subscribers worldwide. That means there are around 5.4 billions who aren't, even though many of those have internet enabled phones. Considering that many registered to Facebook will not be active users anyway, we refuseniks are well in the majority. The...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

As Tom says, it was Croydon that had Britain's international airport then. The amusing thing about it was that traffic lights on a local road had to change to red for takeoffs and landings since the runway straddled it. A treat to see for those waiting at the lights. Below is the largest...

Don't have to be on Facebook to get all that. We just use the stooges who are reporting on that for us! ;) Would you really consider me an ill informed person? .

    Update on N.I. e-bike regs.

There are indeed, and I'm not on Twitter either. Nor do I have a smartphone, though one wouldn't be much use to me anyway. Despite being in a London borough I have no mobile phone signal on any network. Connectivity can have steps too far, and Social Media are just that. .

    Update on N.I. e-bike regs.

Don't forget the bell. :) Yes, that's another N.I. anomally. The 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic specifies that all bicycles have to have bells or equivalent. That doesn't apply in the mainland UK, but Northern Ireland with its devolved transport is signed up to it so it's the law...

There is moderation, mainly by joint administrator HelenJ, but it's site policy to keep it as minimal as possible. Occasionally old hands like myself will draw Admin's attention when we think some action could be due. .

We have more like it Tom. In my own borough of Croydon there's some very poor people and living standards in the Old Town and North, but to the south there are gated private estates with homes costing several millions each. .

Any mid drives for under a grand

Not new you wouldn't, lower price cutoff is around £1500 new and most are much above that. But second hand there will be plenty well below £1000. E-bikes don't enjoy a good second hand market. .
