E-bike power cuts out under load

Replacing parts willy nilly can work out expensive as ideally you need to know the reason & cause. A controller and lcd not needed is a waste of £50 +. Having ruled out those two, battery is the next step for fault finding if you are able to carry out the basic voltage/load checks to confirm...

E-bike power cuts out under load

Under load if any one cell group collapses down to below 3.3v/3.4v then you will have your answer of a knackered battery or one that isn't able to sustain high amp draw.

The function you describe and posted up a pic to is different form the model they were selling, maybe it is an older incarnation of the same bike.

Does the bike work at all ? Make sure the battery is charged check the battery output terminals with a volt meter, plac eit on the bike and make sure the battery is on if it has a switch. move the switch to E & and pedal to see if it works, it has a pedal sensor and is a pas/cadence operated...

Lacing a hub motor to rim

It took me about 3 wheel builds to be able to get one trued well, best to practice on and old wheel a good few times. It's one of these tasks that is very satisfying and is a good way to chill out if you have no interruptions 30 - 60 mins should have one trued from a loose lacing.

Lacing a hub motor to rim

Knowing the area you live in may help. If anyone was near to me I would lace/true a rim for someone for a small remuneration.

Lacing a hub motor to rim

Buy a twin wall rim and make sure the seller can tell you the ERD (effective rim dia), this the internal rim dia inc the rims thickness, usually about 4 - 5 mm greater then the internal dia you can measure. Once you know the ERD use an online spoke length calc site to get the spoke length...

    Bbs01 or 2

The two drives are very different, Bosch is torque drive unit so multiplies the effort you make. Whilst the BBS is cadence with throttle if required, BBS will need some tweaking with a programming cable otherwise stock settings are very conservative and will make inclines harder then the Bosch...

    Bafang virgin

36V battery will generally have 50 cells in 10S5P config, 48v for the same case will have 52cells in 13S4P config. Weight diff is negligible but the main diff is the 48v will usually have more watts hours although the ah is less. An example; 36v x 14.5ah = 522wh. 48v x 12ah = 576wh. Although...

All I can think it can be is either a simple on off switch or a speed switch with 3 differing speed levels.

    Power cycle free hub

Looks like a notched retaining ring obviously there is specific tool to undo it, though if you may be able to undo by other means if it isn't too tightly torqued up.

Is this the only switch on the bike or is there a display as well ?

Is there an road legal kit for an 48v 14.5ah battery?

Winding speed 349rpm not very high torque for the op.

E-bike power cuts out under load

Cell voltages only tell us the state of charge for the parallel groups, unequal voltages can be under performing bms or weak cells groups. If bike has a throttle check each cell group voltage drop with the wheel off the ground, if necessary apply the brake gently to induce more load/amp draw...

E-bike power cuts out under load

Battery max charge is 54.6v, 48v is the nominal battery of approx. 3.7v per cell. Voltage though of cells 5, 8 &10 are out of balance so bms is either not balancing correctly or the cells have lost charge. Most likely cells can't deliver the amp draw for the 28/30a rated controller and some...

Show us a pic of the switch. If it is the one with 6km/h this is a walk along mode don't try and ride the bike with it as it is not designed for this. +/- buttons are for increasing assist level from low to high. Each level will differ depending on if it is speed to torque simulation control...

My BB has no clearance to fit speed sensor

With gxp/hollowtech it's not practical to fit on the LHS, the mag ring needs to be attached to something for the rotation and the gap between sensor and magnets needs to be about 1 - 3mm. Square taper bb is no problem as there is usually enough spindle length and a ga' between bb shell face...

Is there an road legal kit for an 48v 14.5ah battery?

48v controller or better still a KT 36/48v dual voltage one and obviously 48v power supply. Most 36v controllers only have 50v capacitor so not able to handle 13s/54.6v. Yes you can run 250w 36v hub at 48v. 17a should be fine also 20a, though if you use a KT LCD3 or 6 you can lower amp draw if...

Unusual 36V Battery - any ideas

Any cell showing 0v is well and truly finished. 10s bms won't work for 6s as it will be expecting to see all 10s voltage readings, you will need a 6s bms or use it without a bms and manually keep an eye on charge/discharge voltage. 6S BMS with balancing < $14 delivered on Aliexpress. Though...

Makes you wonder if they have developed the system with a regen function, which we know would be counter productive for ebikes. The last thing you need is more hinderance.
