    Increasing ah?

The only way to increase ah is to use cells with more capacity or parallel another battery with yours to make increase.

Battery charging for the occasional rider

It's not a smart charger that is needed but a programmable bms which you can then set the balance voltage to suit your requirements. Unless you have a smart/programmable bms then you need a full charge on maybe every 1/2 doz to keep cells from straying, balance occurs above 4.15v per cell. I...

Unusual 36V Battery - any ideas

They are either 10s Li-pol cells in which case voltage should be 41.5 - 42v in which case they have had it with your voltage readings. OR LifePo4 cells would seem more in keeping as they have a lower cell voltage and 24/26v is actually 10s in stead of 7s as with lion or lipo. The cell...

    Careers vengeance hard work pedalling!

It doesn't take long to acclimatise to electric bike assist and it becoming the norm, it is only when you go back to unassisted riding that you realise how easy assisted riding is.

    Careers vengeance hard work pedalling!

What yo feel as resistance is mostly the extra bike weight in the wheel you are trying to propel and is normal, though some hubs take awhile to loosen up/become easier to pedal. It should be easier to ride with no power on at all and with the battery switched off, any resistance may be...

    Wheel keeps falling off!

I have been asked by a retailer to fit the odd kit to a bike for customers, generally though I'm not interested in going down that route or my time is needed elsewhere. Though locally I'm more then willing to offer advice or practical help and on here of course. More often then not I need to see...

    Wheel keeps falling off!

Drake most bikes don't need torque washers or arms, but those bike with hubs motors front or rear benefit from the additional securing to prevent just the issue you have experienced. Some hubs are more powerful then others.

    Wheel keeps falling off!

I have to say that sadly Drake has ventured in the unknown in to where to get his bike repaired by someone with little knowledge of ebike repairs in general. A pas/magnet disc never needs the requirement of removing a rear wheel as only the cranks/ drive train need removing to replace said item...

    Bit confused on bbs01 reprogramming

Some of you guys make laugh you want a pedelec but really need a moped. Of course 250W compared to 500w or BBSHD is like chalk and cheese as they are in fact an s -ped category bike. Nothing wrong with having what ever you desire/want, but it gets boring when folk keep bemoaning the legal 250w...

Any bike for a 18 mile commute each way

You asked about a commute bike , I gave an example. other factors need to be given for us to give suitable suggestions. Eddie did a review a 2 - 3 tears ago and the Karoo performed quite well I believe on hilly terrain.

    New to ebikes

TBH probably the best kit which is legal with 250w markings has to be the 48v SWX02 kit from Woosh bikes. Only down side is you will need a freewheel. If you want a cassette kit then their XFO8C 36v. UK sourced ex China kits with advantage of spares & backup = great CS. There are some a...

What does a bit of extra weight on an ebike actually do?

More weight means more effort to move the extra mass, unless you are going to put in the extra effort/watts then the battery will need to supply the extra.

Which hub motor for my handbike (Q100H?)

Forgot to mention KT's have a speed link so if you want approx. 30% more speed (32 - 35km/h) disconnect the controller link and adjust speed via lcd other wise leave it as is for 25km/h.

Which hub motor for my handbike (Q100H?)

Generally most often use are the KT controllers and bits , buy from PSWPower or I find better service from their Aliexpress store. Advantage of these is that the controllers are dual voltage so can happily be used with 36 & 48v and a more choice amp wise though if you buy a high amp controller...

Which hub motor for my handbike (Q100H?)

Weight will be a bit different as 500w will have stronger windings then a 250w. My cst is supposedly 250w though it isn't marked. Mostly though weight will depend on the hub diameter as well. SWX02 will be lighter then my cst as it is only 160mm compared to 180mm. I've weighed my cst so know it...

    Wheel keeps falling off!

If I were you I would never give him any more business ever again. That is **** poor service/workman ship and clearly doesn't know what he is doing, he has not fitted it back at all correctly and possibly may have cost you a lot of money if the cable is damaged. As Ajax has mentioned the...

    Ebike 700c throttle.

SImple answer to both is likely to be no. Unless there is an unused 3 wire connector then fitting a throttle is nil. Luishi's don't usually have a speed loop wire AFAIK and any extra speed if available will be via lcd display settings with the speed increments if it allows. Changing wheel size...
