    Wireless battery charging for e-Bikes

Not sockets, pads, plated metal that doesn't corrode like those on the Lafree series I mentioned. Fixed on the bike, lightly sprung on the charge base to ensure firm contact when against each other. Been working on those bikes with up to 15 amps since 2001, so e-bike charge current no possible...

What annoys me about some posts

I'd guessed it was predictive text. The most predictable thing about it is its capacity to get things wrong! :D .

    Wireless battery charging for e-Bikes

Which I maintain is more efficient than air spaced transfer. But apart from that, again, why complicate? We don't want any more weight or complexity on bikes, using two simple contact pads directly to the battery is all that's necessary for charge input. .

    Wireless battery charging for e-Bikes

But why? This cannot be more efficient than direct contact transfer of energy so why complicate for the sake of it? .

    Wireless battery charging for e-Bikes

A direct contact charger will always be more efficient than an inductive one if both are designed to the highest standards for efficiency. That many of our present chargers are not efficient enough isn't a good basis for comparison, they can be improved. .

    Wireless battery charging for e-Bikes

The problem isn't safety, it's the wastage due to the inefficiency of induction charging. In a world where we will be increasingly relying on hard won renewable energy, often locally produced, every watt will be precious and efficiency will be paramount. There's simply no need whatsoever for...

What annoys me about some posts

It could not be wheel in an English grammatical phrase, but could just be in certain archaic dialects. In the context of the original post I think the former. .

    Wireless battery charging for e-Bikes

No need for cables and plugs, so why have the terrible induction inefficiency wastage when contact pads on the bike and in the cradle work perfectly ok? It is after all only charging current which pads easily handle. .

What annoys me about some posts

The censorship doesn't seem to work, I've found no bar on posting any of the naughty bits. My post was both corrective (carp to crap), and constructive in the placing of a comma after crap, thus giving speech style emphasis when read for greatest clarity of meaning. :) .

Ok, I'll be constructive. :) This sentence you posted: It may we’ll be carp but be constructive. Should have been: It may well be crap, but be constructive. ;) .

    Wireless battery charging for e-Bikes

The Swiss have long had an obsession with induction charging and power transfer, not sure why. The earliest I remember many years ago was a flywheel propelled bus, which at bus stops had induced power driving the flywheel back up to speed to drive the bus to the next stop. As Danidl has...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Surely it will be going in reverse, more like Basra when we were chased out of Iraq? .

TM and co. aren't worried Tom, the CIA have Europe saturated with spies as ever and they share their intelligence with us. And very good it is too, we'd never have known Sadam's Iraq had WMDs without them telling us. .

    Special Mention for Halfords Telford

That's the key, the staff in each branch. I have three Halfords within reach, two I've previously found hopeless, the third very good simply because they had a very good man who knows his stuff in the bike department there. .

Maximum amount of words for a thread starter

Probably the same as in any subsequent reply in the thread. In the case of this forum I've checked and that's 10,000 words limit. .

You are a mucky pup Eddie! Those conditions are what horses are for. :) For a change perhaps the larger chainwheel on the Giant's Yamaha wasn't so good in mud clogging conditions. .

    Dutch view of cycling law

One lady who I'd warned of my approach on a shared path said with a smile as I passed slowly, "Thank you for using your bell". Shows it can really be appreciated. .

    Kalkhoff Agattu Mod

Shouldn't be any problem, but you'd need to have throttle control for the front motor of course. Also use a separate battery for the front motor, the five contact with three in use when running of the Agattu's battery wouldn't suit. If you only use the front motor for added power when climbing...
