    Brexit, for once some facts.

And who controls the WTO?! Come on, get real, the USA always plays the rules to suit itself. Just look at their very heavily sudsidised steel industry, but as soon as any other government wants to give any help to their steel industry the USA cries foul. Remember their retaliation against us...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Boeing and the US government always play dirty to protect Boeing's market, and there's no doubt that is what is happening here yet again. The underhand ways they tried to undermine Airbus to prevent the A380 being successful were almost unbelievable, but they lost in the end with Airbus now...

So much for being a friendly neighbour, Bombardier being a Canadian company of course. Mexico on one side and Canada on the other will regard Trump's America as the neighbour from hell. .

Ongoing reliability of Kalkhoff/Focus Impulse 2 motors

Thanks for the information, it's good that one is trying and hopefully there will be more. Still overall an exception though, of well over 200,000 pedelecs on UK roads, you'd find almost all have no plate whatsoever. None I've owned or the many I've tried over the years have had a plate. .

Ongoing reliability of Kalkhoff/Focus Impulse 2 motors

Just to round this off and show just how light-heartedly the law on pedelecs is treated, there has always been a requirement that they be plated showing various details. The current requirement I quote below: As part of the GB EAPC amending legislation, that will come into force on 6 April...

Ongoing reliability of Kalkhoff/Focus Impulse 2 motors

Maybe a little of the history will help. Despite their first appearances being in Germany and The Netherlands in the 1920s, England was a pioneer in trying to get e-bikes actually onto the market in the early 1980s, and in 1983 we had regulations created for them. At the core was a strict 200...

    Two-tier justice

No it doesn't, because in this case you aren't in full possession of the facts. It was made clear in court that the woman who created and ran the scheme was by far the most guilty, but she had young children and escaped the imprisonment so clearly due and received a light community order...

And another reason is the Panasonic's simpler drive train needing much less reduction due to a small chain sprocket running at much higher speed. Not only more reliable but more efficient too, needing less power. Of course Bosch have recognised that superiority and copied it in their later...

    Two-tier justice

But there's also blatant sexism in favour of women within the whole justice system, so that may have been the cause here. One only has to watch the police programs on TV to see it in action, and case outcomes as here are commonly very unfairly much softer on women. In one case that...

Your reply was within the quote marking, so was concealed. Here's your original content: I didn't put the perception in their mind that they are no longer welcome in the UK. Our government have pretty much sent that message out to all of Europe. I and my wife apologised for the Xenophobic...

I think my Kalkhoff Pro Connect is Knackered.

I've ridden one through flood water that was right over the crankcase, with no trouble then or subsequently. When these have suffered a damp problem it mainly appears to be the handlebar unit that's got damp into it. That makes sense, the lower connectors are well shielded while the handlebar...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Macron is probably deluded, the EU will never agree any exit for the UK that might appeal to any other EU members. Or perhaps he sees in that possibility an opportunity for France to do the same? Either way, Germany and many other northern members will never fall for it. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

This simply isn't true, the lie was created by the rabid Brexiters who wanted and in many cases still want a end to immigration. The proof is on the streets which they still take to with banners against immigration, no remainers ever do that. Remainers were mostly happy with the EU and the...

Derby to host the largest electric bike scheme in the U.K.

I hope they've got the cable to the front hub motor well protected, it's always a big vulnerability. I wonder if they know a major producer of e-bikes is Derby Cycles gmbh. o_O .

I'd make that "assumed to be wrong". Mistrust of a simple solution and the desire by so many to over complicate all too often means simple solutions aren't tried on the assumption that the simplicity must make them wrong. My simple solutions to two businesses in trouble served me well, both...

Came off bike in most plonkerish way

Maybe in that moment of panic you were gripping the bars too tightly? That can cause the steering to be unstable and it's what causes beginner's wobble when they first get on to learn to ride. Once they learn to relax and let the steering auto-correct minor deviations, the wobble goes. .

Yes, a mirror is the answer. Since adopting one many years ago I won't ride without one, they make such a big difference. .
