Hi, i have CFS, wondering if an ebike is right for me and which type?

Geared drives will be equally better as you don't have to throw larger amps or batteries at them for a lighter kit. Kit wise although a freewheel one is the 48v Bafang one from Woosh, will give good speed if required and good torrque less can be more when you compare geared hubs and D/D hubs. Or...

A random thread for things too unimportant for their own thread...

In the two cases above I opened the disputes because both sellers blanked me after emailing them first.

    Hello from Frinton-On Sea

Lithium cells are technologically far more advanced then the old SLA car battery, lighter and a high power density power for their size. Price wise cells are not cheap as I stated in #3. Buy cheap you often buy twice. Generally cheap batteries will have poorer cells they will be ok for about 18...

IZIP throttle wiring - please help!

A bit late to the thread as I have been at work. Looking at the controller there already is a sm3 3 wire connector in situ from the pcb all you require is a 3 wire twist grip or thumb throttle, get the wiring sequence in the right order connect up an you should be good to go. The only bit you...

    Traction problem with Big Bear

As the motors are the same speed with a separate controller and battery you could if you wanted to connect to the same throttle and activate as one. Alternately for permanent two wheel drive connect them both to the same pas.

    Woosh Zephir for sale

Yep, two simple ask's which often accompany sellers who offer bikes up for sale with scant info.

EBMA files an anti dumping complaint on chinese e-bikes.

Not me, just one of many more hurdles cleared up. Along way to go yet.

Interesting response to a request to head office of Go Outdoors about converting a Calibre Bossnut!

Battery on the underside of the down tube is a bad idea. 1. Relying on the full battery weight to be kept in place by usually a flimsy lock unless extra strapping is provided. 2. Chances are battery will suffer a severe hit in any off the bike moments. 3. Clearance from front wheel turning...

    Woosh Zephir for sale

Although anyone can look/find a stock pic of the bike to see what it looks like, however it does not represent the condition of said bike being sold unless you are gullible and trust someone's word for it.

electrical danger battery sound at fault ?

In my view I would stop playing around and open the battery to have a look at what might be occurring with the wiring to the connector.

As said quite simply covering their backsides, as soon as you put major mods on the bike you void the warranty and any come back on the seller in the case you do serious harm. Bikes are built to cater for a wide range of rider weights so adding a 6/7kg kit isn't an issue, it's the competence of...

electrical danger battery sound at fault ?

The meters dial by sounds of it was rotated to the left anticlockwise which is the correct dc range, your meters leads should be Black in the com (Lower) port and Red in the VQma (mid )port.

Good choice for a first meter?

Any budget one will be good from 4 or 5 quid to the one posted above, even at a bit over a tenner it's not expensive. Ideally one with the buzz feature for continuity testing is a must not all have this in the cheaper ones.

    GBoost direct drive review

The nice bit is that you can engage or disengage the drive as and when you need it so can see very good mileage can be done with this fitted for occasional assistance only. A light weight touring or hybrid bike would be ideal use for this drive.

    GBoost direct drive review

Looking on the site there is no option to buy new adhesive strips so would need a request to by them. Friction drive system with no battery 699 euros for 250w system not cheap but for an unobtrusive unit with no wheel building or no loss of any gearing sounds good. Only designed for use with...

    GBoost direct drive review

Looks neat and simple a complete friction drive kit unlike Keplers DIY style adapter kit on ES. What may put off some folks is the 900-1200 euros price tag. Also real world ability in our winter wet weather and wether it is completely slip/traction proof with the roller tape in place.

electrical danger battery sound at fault ?

Of the four pins two should be for battery discharge and two for charging. With a working battery off the bike two pins should give a voltage reading (discharge circuit) and two should give nothing (charge circuit). How they are aligned you will have to find out, as long as you don't allow...

electrical danger battery sound at fault ?

Plenty on ebay, as long as you don't allow the probes to touch when testing you should have no issues, all they do is register a reading depending on what you are testing for. We all started out like you with some or little knowledge, the addition of a meter is a must step with leccy bikes...
