    Fully automatic system

20" better for ride qualities, much closer to a normal bike than a 16" wheel one can be. Also there's various size wheels termed 16" which can cause problem with tyre choices and tyres sometimes so tight they are near impossible to fit. .

Tern is Dahon again by the way. There was a bust up in the Hon family, Dr. David Hon who founded Dahon on the one side, wife Florence and son Joshua on the other. The latter two broke away and set up rival Tern. Much bitterness and threats of legal action, but both companies still seem to be...

    Fully automatic system

Fully agree, way back in 2007 I had the two combined, motor equal to the BPM in a small (20") wheel folder. This account of a ride back in 2007 shows what such a combination can do. N.B. There's two dud links on that old webpage, they are below if you want them: Trailer attachment Trailer...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Once again the answer to that was to join in properly to hasten full union. That would mean the European Commission and the EU Council disbanded and just the democratic EU parliament as the federal government. .

    HUB MOTOR CAPABILITY

No, the damage will only ever result from the current being over the safe level, generating excess heat and resulting damage. It's other factors being "under" that can bring about the excess current condition. Examples from Danidl's response: Voltage insufficient turning motor slower than...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

About £160 a year per UK head. But if we include the concealed benefit of all the much cheaper-than-UK-costs holidays and housing we've had in the poorer EU countries, we haven't lost anything. We're probably in credit balance. And any loss of control was due to our refusal to fully join in...

    Who would it be?

This only came about because you challenged my original post, which was in no way confusing. I presume that was because I mentioned the three individuals by name. I should be able to mention anyone without being challenged just for mentioning them. .

    HUB MOTOR CAPABILITY

Lots don't. I've owned front and rear hub motor bikes and a crank drive. I've liked them all for their differing qualities, but when reduced to one type only, it's rear hub motor for me. .

    Who would it be?

Maybe, but the OP specified candidates had to be good company and an inspiration. The three I specified have inspired billions and never seemed to lack company, but I don't know the Brexit thread contributors qualities in this respect. .

    HUB MOTOR CAPABILITY

Far from it, they are some of the most beautifully designed and built pedelecs in existence. Their quality and that of their sister Koga pedelecs is outstanding. Not very powerful and best suited to Dutch conditions at introduction, they now claim much higher torque though I think they...

    HUB MOTOR CAPABILITY

Hush, you'll be upsetting justebikes.co.uk. They sell the Dutch Sparta Ion 250 watt Direct Drive motor pedelecs. They won't like being told they're £2000 worth of useless scrap! .

    ASA ebike dongles

No, they cut out at 15.5 mph. But not being DD, they have internal freewheels which disconnect the motor, making it much easier to pedal to speeds over 15.5 mph than a DD motored bike. .

    ASA ebike dongles

The key is in your use of ebike, that isn't what we have. An ebike means an electrically powered bike, and those come under motor vehicle law, Ours are EAPCs, Electric Assist Pedal Cycles. The law provides for a degree of assistance for cycling for those needing it, and as such isn't to...

Trucks and buses rapidly getting better though, last London figures I saw were 1500 buses hybrid now and increasing by at least 4 per week, plus 22 electric and 8 hydrogen fuel cell. By 2020 it's intended that central area buses will only be hybrids etc. On Nox emissions the worst offenders...

Agreed, in the trade I never used to use levers to fit a tyre and much of the time not even to remove a tyre. I'm not surprised you had trouble with those MPs, they should never be folded. When buying online it's always best to check how the supplier sends them, many do bag tyres unfolded. .
