if that happens, then two thirds of the UK will want brexit to be reversed. I don't see that is going to be a problem. Until then, let's continue as we are.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I did know that the referendum is advisory, Kudosdave made that point much earlier in this debate and the Supreme Court was right to confirm parliament is sovereign in this matter, not the government. When I said 'democracy is served' meaning it's parliament that enacted the A50 bill, not the...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

if that were the basis then it would have been written into the act - a strong majority is required, not a simple majority. Our parliament voted to enable the referendum with a simple majority. The outcome of the referendum though is resolved by the High Court decision to hand back decision and...

actually, only 46.5 millions were allowed to vote. 33.5 millions voted. Only 13 millions, not 31, were allowed to vote but didn't for one reason or another. The fairest way is to assume that only cast votes count.

old tom, if you get back to your first question of the day: Another wording may be 'Why are the tories so far ahead in the polls?' As usual, if you don't like someone's answer, you get back to your comfort zone, quoting the AAV blog. Believe me, there is hope outside the AAV blog. I shudder...

I was thinking mainly about triangle bag and rack box, it may be possible to pull out 'solar sails' from them and hook the sails to the handlebars. Something like this: or like this:

I suspect you do because of your intention to vote for the LibDems. They and the Greens seem to be the only pro EU parties at the moment.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Flecc, OG, oldtom, KTM are all fighting the last battle instead of concentrating on the next battle, which party will be at the helm. The tories are the only party where the majority of its membership wants to leave. If you want so much to stay, then fight the tories. Put yourselves up for...

and you know exactly which half I meant, the special group of referendum voters. People now realize that there is a cost to brexit and the £350 million a week for the NHS is not coming for many years if at all. How may have changed their mind?

I think the tories are ahead because the majority of the electorate agrees that nobody else among the Westminster elite will take us out of the EU better than Mrs May. The problem for you, oldtom and OG, is that you cannot get your head around the fact that half the country still wants out.

I see solar charging as more of a convenience than trying to go green. The main drawback is the additional weight rather than cost. Charging does not have to be limited to only while you ride. Your bike still has the battery, good for a couple of days commuting before recharging. Progress in...

I usually add grease not so much because the CD motor needs lubrication but more to stop water and dirt getting in.

Most people only need about 100WH-200WH a day to use the bike for commuting. I was thinking of molding the flexible panels into mudguards, chainguard, baskets, rack boxes, triangle bags etc. and connect then together in the controller box. Ideally, the cost of adding solar charging should be...

there should be enough grease in the gearbox for at least 1,000+ miles. Why do you want to re-grease it so early?

in theory, the sun gives us plenty more than needed to ride our bikes. The sun at altitude above the clouds, gives us about 1kw per square meter. On the ground, some is absorbed by the atmosphere but there is still plenty left from that 1kw/sqm. At the current rate of development, it won't be...

you will need a dongle for that. If you derestrict a bike with a geared hub, you can get to about 20mph with a 36V 15A controller. More if you have a higher rating controller.

I stand corrected, AB. I talked to a customer who came to our shop in Southend yesterday, he lives in Croydon but works in Redhill. He reckons 40 miles a day. That must have stuck somewhere in memory when I posted. He test rode the Woosh Karoo. May be a member of the forum. I forgot to ask.
