Boris is a mongrel with both Turkish and Russian ancestry. His ancestors include Ali Kemal of Turkey and Hubert Freiherr von Pfeffel, grandson of Prince Paul of Wurtettemberg who was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. He's very proud of these ancestries, reflected in his own full name of...

The position worsens. I've learnt now that all five autonomous regions of Belgium have to agree to any deal. This brings the total of political bodies needing to be negotiated with to 36, any one of which has the power of veto. Most sell us nothing or very little so couldn't care less whether...

Yes: At the moment, Article 50 allows an EU Member State to secede from the Union by giving two years notice to the relevant authorities. However, as from March 31st 2017 – a date just five months away – Article 50 will be subject to the dreaded Qualified Majority Vote (QMV)…that is to say, we...

That's especially true now that there's general agreement in the EU that negotiating a deal for the UK will take far longer than two years.* With several years to rethink what we are doing, a complete change of mind is very likely * Anyone who doubts that should take note of Canada's words...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I don't think it matters what Brompton do, it's an irrelevance. The scale of its business is too small to ever begin to meet our needs and always will be with their current policies. We live on imports and continue to fail to export anything like enough to pay for them, so continue to get...

I'm absolutely certain that it was Tesco that had to climb down on this issue since Unilever had them over a barrel. Tesco were bluffing, they knew they could not manage without Unilever's products without brand concious shoppers moving in droves to rivals for their favourite products, and...

An audience largely composed of idiots. They claim to have studied the subject thoroughly before voting but all they conclude is that we need to be positive. I don't think a plateful of positivity will satisfy me when I'm hungry and I doubt positivity has value as an export. The idiots will...

When ebiking, I always get a big smile from the ladies I pass.

They were probably e-biking commuters who'd just got back in after a hard day's work and a wet ride home in aggressive car driving traffic. .

Is there a governing body to report a rogue e bike trader/retailer to ?

I'm appalled by this man's behaviour David, ever since he received the new free upgrade bike it's been despicable and completely inexcusable. Considering all the circumstances it's so irrational I honestly wonder if he isn't mentally ill. .

ISO standard body looks at speed for upcoming ISO/CD 4210-10

It won't happen. Firstly the European parliament already proposed removing the power limit a couple of years ago but the Commission rejected that outright. Secondly, as stated, the consensus over much of the world is for the 25 kph limit with many countries tied to that. .

I don't consider we on the Remain side lost. I can accept a decision by under 40% of the electorate with a tiny majority in a general election, since it's alterable shortly after at the next election. This is different, a decision we're potentially stuck with for a very long time, for example...

I'm just used to the way predictions about batteries always fall so far short of what's promised. As I've often observed, after 200 years of development we still use the earliest technology for the most common high drain usage, starting vehicles. .
