    Will e-bikes get cheaper?

The motors are fine of course, they can propel whole trains at speeds that rival jet airliner services. But batteries are a very different issue, I'm sure they could never get anywhere near the energy density of fossil fuels, no matter how far development goes. .

Is there a governing body to report a rogue e bike trader/retailer to ?

Probably a bit difficult though, since this thread is part three. Here's part one and here's part two .

    Will e-bikes get cheaper?

The fall in the pound has made all imports dearer and we are already getting price increases of 15 to 18% filtering in. Yesterday's inflation news isn't helping, it's much higher than expected and will increase supplier costs. The spat between Tesco and Unilever was an indicator, the latter...

I got my A2B Hybrid, and I'm hating it.

Some of the earlier ones acted like that, regardless of how they should have worked. One popular Urban Mover model, I forget which model number it was but might have been UM44, came in two versions, cheaper cadence sensor or dearer torque sensor. Those who paid out for the torque sensor...

It's not you or the bike, it's having the dog that's getting their approval. :D Woof! .

Is there a governing body to report a rogue e bike trader/retailer to ?

David has already answered these on page 2 of the thread, here's the excerpt: QUOTE="Amps Electric Bikes, post: 335054 A few weeks ago I was contacted directly by Alan (PGChimp) he seemed to think there was a problem with a bike supplied to him by On Bike. Rather than take the bike back to...

    Will e-bikes get cheaper?

Two factors. One is the constant upgrading that's still going on, the technology isn't settled. Second is the current economic situation that's increasing prices of imports. Only today we got an announcement of higher than expected inflation, and that didn't include the effects of Brexit...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Today's inflation news and forecasts further underline what a disastrous decision has been taken with Brexit. We're facing a very long and possibly indefinite period of pain if we exit the EU. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Yes. The USA has always disliked the tendency of France to be opposed to US influence and was aware of how Poland was disposed to be very friendly towards the USA. John Major's pushing very hard for the former eastern bloc countries to be allowed into the EU was I'm sure on behalf of the USA...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Given all the comments received from the public thoughout, one would have to be very dumb not to know that the major issues for Brexiters were getting back sovereignty and immigration control. When questioned about the purpose of the desired sovereignty, it was quickly revealed that a major...

Is there a governing body to report a rogue e bike trader/retailer to ?

But not knowing is no justification for the references to duff trader, rogue trader etc, or any justification for a deliberate lie about the source of the bike. Publically establishing his own deceitfulness is hardly a sensible way to proceed with such an issue. .

    Will e-bikes get cheaper?

The current trend is probably to higher prices, some already increasing by about 10%. That's true of batteries as well as complete e-bikes. The 250 watts figure is only a nominal legal figure, in practice there's very large variation in actual powers. Most get to at least 400 watts maximum...

    E-bike & battery life span?

Not just Porsche with scary battery prices, the BionX ebike kits 36 volt 9.6 Ah downtube battery was listed at £1050 last time I looked some while ago. They seem to have replaced it since with different voltage and capacities between $975 and $1,250 in the USA, not listed here but would...

Is there a governing body to report a rogue e bike trader/retailer to ?

I've known David Miall and his companies during the life of this forum, both being about the same age. Throughout his standard of trading and support for customers and his dealers have been not only beyond reproach but have also often gone well beyond the call of duty, as this current example...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

The only resolve in the referendum result that I saw was 52% resolved to leave the EU, 48% resolved to stay in the EU. Not a promising indicator of future success through united national effort, so that evidence of resolve is worthless in this context. I would love to see this country succeed...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

That remains to be proven, there's no evidence of it yet. Based on our performance through the 1960s and 1970s when we still manufactured, there was no resolve to succeed but abundant evidence of a resolve to fail, which we duly did. Nothing since has changed that. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Exactly the point I've made much earlier in this thread, Germany's secret is fourfold: They are disciplined. They work hard. They innovate. They produce very desirable products. We in the UK fall down on points one, two and four, and many companies also fall down on point three, thinking...
