The riddle of complete bikes cheaper than kits?

ebay has a buyer money back guarantee. paypal has a direct debit mandate on the sellers' bank account to charge back in case they find for the buyer. I think the money is pretty safe but you lose about 2-3 weeks waiting for the bike that will never arrive then raise a dispute resolution case and...

oh no, I meant the usual hub motors with built in reduction gear that we use on the woosh bikes, to be distinguished from the direct drive hub motors which are suitable for high speed ride on flat roads. Sorry for the confusing word.

    New Cyclamatic

The reason I singled out CD bikes and torque sensor is because shops stock what sells and in turn, what sells feeds back to what shops stock. If your budget is £2k, there isn't any offering from direct vendors like Woosh, you have to either go to the shops or convert a bike, so the choice is...

    New Cyclamatic

The problem is chiefly marketing. The people who sell most bikes are the independent bike shops. If you manage to have the IBDs owners on your side, then there is no reason Chinese bikes can't have a sticker that says 'I am reassuringly expensive'. If only I can get the perception of CD bikes...

The shop 150 yards from us in the same street sell Wispers. His customers rarely pop into our shop and vice versa although sometimes we see customers test ride Wispers and Wooshes up and down the same street. There are always middle of the road products that seem to compete for the same...

D8ve, for the last 3 years, our best selling bikes are numerically the more expensive ones, I naturally make effort to bring in more top end bikes and leave the low end to Cyclamatic and Prorider.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

When the questioner replied 'I am an American citizen', the reply to him was 'whatever'. Clearly, Trump's men did not see the questioner as a worthy citizen. That's what I find unacceptable.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I like Mark Carney. To his defense, the pre-referendum Treasury forecast (23-May-2016) from my point of view is substantially correct. In their scenario, Sterling was devalued against the Dollar at 12%, inflation forecast at 2.3%, now 19% devaluation, 2.8% inflation. That accounts for the...

Yes, I found it annoying when the off time is longer than necessary. Instead of spending £50 on a gear sensor (or £33 on a copy), I think the money is better spent on a better, slicker derailleur.

We've been following that path for quite sometime. At least since Blair.

You are only stitched up if you are in the dark. If you are rich and know somebody who is in the wotsit 'bridge', you could do very well out of brexit.

    Bafang Max Drive bikes

that's the tricky bit. I think (with the usual caveat, I am not a lawyer) that in UK law, the importers act as manufacturer's agent. You can of course deal directly with the factory, send back to China (TGWG in this case) the faulty motor but I think you pay for for courier fees to their...

parliament should hold a public enquiry about the role of political lobbies and introduce new laws to curb their influence. They buy and sell votes, now on a huge scale. Totally unacceptable.

Dillenger kit problems - (m) symbol and not working

the FETs can blow if there is a short somewhere. It may be a good idea to check the motor cable for signs of chafing. Also, check the resistance between the phase wires.

Dillenger kit problems - (m) symbol and not working

your motor cable has 3-pin connector. The 3 pins are for the 3 phase wires, there is no Hall sensor inside the motor. From your description, two of the 3 phases have got their FETs burnt.

I agree that brexit will benefit the wealthy first. I think a couple of years on, unemployment for the young will improve. There is not much economic benefit for the old. If anything, pressure on the NHS may worsen.
