    Leaving the EU

My sister did that! She gave up on this country some years ago and has lived in India, Pakistan, West Africa, South America and currently Bulgaria. I've also got a niece doing similar, I never know where she'll pop up again. . .

new to pedelecs! need some help with ID!

It's common for a battery to be off a bike and with its charger indoors where it's charged. The question could be what happened to it in that location. Finding out where that was in the house and what was packed in that area might still reveal them if there's boxes still to be unpacked. .

No problem, since she's voting, abstain to achieve the opposite. .

Dutch Government banning most i.c cars

Nice tease, but no-one needs to for any reason. Usage is entirely within the power of national governments. Germany's S class is a good example, as is the throttle ruling for UK pedelecs by our DfT. .

    Governing Body ???

We had BEBA (British Electric Bike Association) set up a little while ago by some in the trade, but after a while it was found that there was so much overlap with bicycle issues in general, the principals decides to merge BEBA into The Bicycle Association. So it's now The Bicycle Association...

    Leaving the EU

A sentiment that I'm sure is shared with an increasing number of people. Hopefully those debating will realise before too long that their present style of argument is non-productive. A possible outcome could be many so sick of the whole issue that there'll be a low turnout to vote, the worst...

    Leaving the EU

On this point I'm in agreement in a sense Gray. The fact is that all warnings of consequences on both sides of the debate are scaremongering, simply because nobody can possibly know either way. I don't pretend to know. I'm mainly in favour of staying the course with the EU because the...

    Bike2 Chainless Electric Bicycle

Indeed, and the provision of selectable generation rates from pedal effort is much better than in the Mando implementation. Could be ok in the flat territories of Denmark and The Netherlands. Not so sure about this type of system for steep hill climbing. .

    Bike2 Chainless Electric Bicycle

The web site emphasises that the pedal generator drives the motor and makes no mention of the pedalling charging the battery. Instead it clearly shows the battery as mains rechargeable with a charge time of six hours and a range. The battery appears to be a support supply, probably under the...

    Bike2 Chainless Electric Bicycle

I'm not so sure. It has a programmable assist speed limit, the highest setting being 25 kph, so within pedelec law. If the software ensures that current from battery to motor can only pass when the pedals are turning, it's pedelec compliant. Danish, where the EU law applies, so I'd think...

Dutch Government banning most i.c cars

Over the whole vehicle history I wouldn't say e-vehicles have been getting better. In the first decade or so of cars, the best one could buy was definitely an electric car, very much better than the early steam and petrol ones. But they couldn't advance much due to the lead-acid batteries...

Dutch Government banning most i.c cars

This doesn't apply to them, their system is vastly different from ours in the UK.. They have a proportional representation system with powers shared by the States, the King and the government. As in any proportional system, the government may be composed of a number of parties. The basis of...

Dutch Government banning most i.c cars

Possibly not, they may still be able to drive in. Apparently they intend to let existing cars continue in use, though not saying for how long. By the same token they may continue to allow visitor's i.c. cars, for a while at least. .

    Rotwild

I didn't know, news to me. Only ever known them as red deer, the males as bucks until they reach full maturity as stags, and the females as does until about three/four years breeding age when they are called hinds. Anglo-Saxon natural history knowledge, no idea what the Germans call those...

    Leaving the EU

Absolutely, I'm in total agreement with Tillson and yourself about these issues. There comes a point where our standards have to be accepted without compromise. .
