What bike is best for learning the Knowledge of London (black cab) on?

I agree with others, I find about 15 mph is fine around London, inner or outer. Of course that speed drops a lot on hills, but you can make it on the downhills. Over all my e-biking I average about 12 to 13 mph, so 50 miles doing the knowledge means around four hours plus some stopped time...

What bike is best for learning the Knowledge of London (black cab) on?

Two 15 Ah batteries would be a good idea, I used to ride up to 60 miles using two or more batteries this way. There's very little chance of an excess speed bike being detected, especially if you are pedalling. The problem can arise if you have an accident though, since the police do then...

What bike is best for learning the Knowledge of London (black cab) on?

In that case, choose the bike carefully, some cannot be derestricted since they are designed to the limit anyway and therefore do not have restriction in the first place. Even derestricted very few will get near 30 mph. .

What bike is best for learning the Knowledge of London (black cab) on?

Bear in mind that the legal motor-assist speed limit is 15.5 mph and most e-bike motor systems are limited to that. Any rider of an e-bike capable of more is prosecutable. To cover 50 miles a day, around four hours riding, needs a very large capacity battery as John says. I'd say a minimum of...

    L1e-A testing requirements

Maybe we should follow China. From Wikipedia: Except for a brief period during the Cultural Revolution (1966–1976) when the government encouraged people to drive on the left (for symbolic/ideological reasons), the convention has been to drive on the right. In practice, however, driving to the...

    L1e-A testing requirements

I think that would be a very tough target for them to achieve though, there's 75 countries which drive on the left, including many large and/or high population ones. Personally I think it's the correct side and it's the R/H drive ones that should change. Here's those that drive on the left...

Schwalbe MP tyres would be about the best to use with a sealant, since they have much greater thickness in which a seal can form. .

    greetings earthlings

Sounds good and ideal for an e-bike, four shortish trips each day. A front hub motor in a light fixie should be ideal for total simplicity. Perhaps even better would be a rear Direct Drive hub motor, no gears even in the motor for maximum reliability. Organising it as a fixie would be a bit...

    Floods in Cumbria,amazing reading.

Trees are one of the best ways to hold back water on the hills, but the interested parties just don't want Britain's bare hills landscapes densely forested again as they once were many centuries ago. There is dense tree planting in a few enlightened areas now, so maybe as the success of that is...

Cyclists soon more important than car drivers

Laziness is far from being the sole factor though. Our lousy British weather is a very big factor, for example this morning here with pouring rain and a howling gale. I ask you, with a car just outside or in the garage alongside, who wouldn't prefer the car then, even for a very short trip...

    SLIME......

I've tried several brands and none have ever done the job. Punctures still suffered but then far worse to repair due to the sticky oozing mess coming out of the puncture hole. The valve blockages are just an added irritation. Perhaps not surprising, this stuff was invented for tubeless car...

    Nuts always getting loose

With plenty of thread there, put on a second nut and using two spanners, lock the outer one very tight against the inner one. That should stop the inner one undoing. Double nutting like that is one of the most secure methods there is. .

    Leaving the EU

It was on gaining home rule from EU member Denmark that they became part of the EEC by some route or other. When wholely with Denmark, they were de facto EU members in the same way that Wales and Scotland are, no separate agreements, just in by virtue of inclusion in a national union. As you...
