Bike Cameras. The Negatives and Positives of using them

Something like this definitely exists, though it's perhaps not so much contempt as annoyance at the difficulties that bicycles present to drivers. I'm not in any way speaking of cyclist fault of course, just the fact that the nature and relatively low speed of bikes doesn't fit in well with...

Nihola cargo trike, Bafang or Sunstar?

We covered that earlier Trex, by fitting the derailleur adaptor to the frame instead, and in fact the OP already has one of those. .

Bike Cameras. The Negatives and Positives of using them

It's true that less of their accidents involve motor vehicles and I've also researched that. Of their average 200 cyclist deaths per year, an average of 50 are unilateral, i.e them killing themselves by silly actions etc, and an average of 40 are in collisions with motor vehicles. I assume the...

Bike Cameras. The Negatives and Positives of using them

Indeed, the right attitude is important, tolerance is best. It's why I've often posted that we shouldn't think of fighting fo road space but of sharing it instead. As freddofrog says above, ride defensively and put up with the idiot drivers with a shrug, only a small proportion are like that...

Nihola cargo trike, Bafang or Sunstar?

Woosh are right, 500 watts is too much for that SRAM 7 hub gear, especially on your bike. I manage to eventually break an SRAM P5 hub gear using the low powered early Panasonic crank unit Lafree by towing large loads, so similar loading to your application. 250 watts is about the limit for...

Bike Cameras. The Negatives and Positives of using them

Certainly not too long, all perfectly put and illustrating the same relaxed way I cycle. And no, Holland's cyclist still don't wear helmets and certainly don't use cameras. There's a lot of cyclist deaths there though! They average 200 cyclist deaths a year (in the last three fully recorded...

Calling all Wooshers and kalkhoffers! and anyone else...

Links in this forum's software are not very clear at all, easily missed when within text, and the underline only appears after a link is clicked. Mine are very clear though, this one for example. ;) .

Nihola cargo trike, Bafang or Sunstar?

I can only find one review claiming the Sunstar SO3 is powerful, that by Richard Peace for Bike Radar. However, he compares it to the Koga e-light which he also likes and which uses the Sparta direct drive rear hub motor, one of the low powered Dutch motors which suits their flat terrain. That...

Nihola cargo trike, Bafang or Sunstar?

I note you have an SRAM hub gear, ruling out a rear hub motor at present, but not completely since it's possible to convert to a derailleur gear with a hub motor wheel. Shimano make an add-on rear mechanism hanger that I've used to convert two bikes to derailleurs with rear motors and it works...

ebco ucr 30 at halfords 40-50miles range??

On average across our users 12 Wh/mile is typical, so on that basis your 288 Wh battery only equals about 24 miles. Getting 30 miles would be quite good using only 9.6 Wh/m. With the fittest getting by on 7.5 Wh/mile with considerable pedal effort, 38 miles would be the limit. Getting beyond...

Nihola cargo trike, Bafang or Sunstar?

The Sunstar SO1, SO2 and SO3 have all been distinctly on the weedy side, giving what's best described as light assistance on normal bikes. For your loading I'd say definitely the Bafang and also save yourself some money. .

Calling all Wooshers and kalkhoffers! and anyone else...

Hello Pete, thank you for the kind words and yes, I do remember you since we didn't have quite so many members back then. Now I'm going to let you down on the knowledge front since I've never ridden the Woosh Krieger and since it's a new introduction using a quite new crank drive motor, no-one...

    Hello my name is Simon.

Since you won't get any in-UK support, it's worth importing anyway. Unusual bike, but I can see the attraction of it's style. Grace One .

Bike Cameras. The Negatives and Positives of using them

No fatalities, a lovely dream, but cyclists will have to become a whole lot better for that to happen! I've heard and seen this sort of thing from cyclists for years, but nothing happens as you know only too well. And it won't until the voice of cycling gets very much larger and louder so it...

New design for a safer bike

Crispin Sinclair, son of Sir Clive of C5 fame, has designed what he feels is a much safer bicycle after suffering a bike accident, and it's electric assist. Basically following the BMW C1 scooter concept, it's a semi-recliner with a roll over hoop and seat belt. You can learn all about his...

    Charger For Kalkhoff

I think yours has a multi pin charging connection and is a base type that the battery stands on, so a normal two connection charger won't suit. I can only suggest you go online to see if you can buy the correct one cheaper from Germany. .

anyone got/tried giant prime hybrid ebike?

It might seem messy, but Giant's policy is that all support is through the relevant agents rather than direct. In practice most find that Giant is very helpful when this route is used, as you've found with the box offer from John. .
