    Bike Shop Design

:). Indeed, I was tempted to post that hammers are reserved for when there's no customers in the shop. I know that's what we did when they were necessary! .

How good is the Big Bear on hills?

That's my experience from years in a hilly area with both a crank drive bike and two powerful hub motor e-bikes. But the personal factor makes a big difference. A powerful rider who can keep a hub motor e-bike up to it's optimum climb speed on a given slope can move that gradient step much...

How good is the Big Bear on hills?

Like any crank drive e-bike, on either, but only in the sense of capability. On most hills the crank drive will be slower climbing than a high power hub motor e-bike like the Big Bear, since the crank drive climb advantage is gained by using the motor through lower gears. The difference...

    Bike Shop Design

Hate overcrowded, densely packed bikes on show which are difficult to get out to pick up, look at and sit on. .

Bike Cameras. The Negatives and Positives of using them

You are like so many cyclists grossly exaggerating the dangers of cycling and by doing so, it is you who are the greatest threat. It is well known that the more cyclists on the roads, the lower the dangers as driver awareness becomes ever more concious of cyclists with resulting care taken...

Certainly no angel since I see him each time I look in a mirror. :) .

    Trek recall One million bikes

The same with me when I've had QRs, but it seems either Trek don't assemble that way or some of their customers have reassembled in a dodgy way. Howvever, they are replacing them with a foolproof version that can't stop the disc and front wheel instantly with painful consequences, so that's no...

    Hi

The ones Wander has shown should be correct for you, since not all the pins are used when either charging or riding. This link shows the details of what the pins do. However the base of your battery looks slightly different, but that may just because it's in fact one of Derby Cycles own...

    Trek recall One million bikes

Trek have issued a safety recall on this huge number of bikes made from 1999 to April 2015 due to a risk of serious accidents. The European market is also affected, so all Trek owers should check if it applies to them. The information is on this link .

    I hate the feeling

Might be worth having a look at the Kudos Secret model too. I don't know what it's like to ride but there's a review by Electric Bike magazine on this page of their web site. Peter Eland who carried out that review is a highly experienced unpowered cyclist and editor of Velovision and Electric...

    Hello

That's usually the case with SLAs Alan, they are bulky for a usable capacity. There isn't really an alternative with that budget, lithium or the NiMh being about five times that per bike. I can only suggest the SLAs mounted elsewhere or the battery case enlarged to suit. .

Bike Cameras. The Negatives and Positives of using them

I continue to find its strange how in accounts to support the use of safety measures like cameras and (dare I mention it) helmets, I read about the horrific incidents that have been suffered. After 68 years from the age of 10 when I started cycling I still haven't a mark on me from any accident...

Riding an electric cargo bike legally in the UK

:). Not exactly the spirit of the law, but certainly a salutary warning to civil service lawyers about sloppy drafting! .

    What tyre?!

This page shows the thick underlayer that protects against punctures Vicky. Click on the film lower right and see how they can be ridden over drawing pins and broken glass without puncturing. That said, very long thorns will puncture anything, so if he rides over hedgeside paths with cuttings...

Bike Cameras. The Negatives and Positives of using them

I was just giving my opinion is response to your request for other's views, not in any way attributing negative behaviour to you or anyone specific. Overall I feel that society has become increasingly intolerant, and the use of cameras to film others behaviour is in some ways an expression of...

    I hate the feeling

The A2B bikes have always tended to be quite high performing motor biased e-bikes, so that might be a part of what you experienced. However, I agree with Kuorider, your impression is common to many trying a e-bike for the first time, so it's best to persist since full control is possible on...

    What tyre?!

Those are fine Vicky, either buy this one for all road use, or if some off-road is ridden as well, this one. It has to be the Marathon Plus version, not the ordinary Marathon which doesn't have the same puncture protection. .

Riding an electric cargo bike legally in the UK

I don't understand your first reference since their e-bikes are not intended for pedestrian control, so this section in both 2024/24/EC and 168/2013 doesn't apply. But yes, the exemption in article 2 of 168/2013 can apply. However, some of out police forces were using e-bikes from 2008...

    What tyre?!

Yes, seconded, the Marathon Plus tyres are the best available defence against punctures. Worth starting with new slime-free tubes as well at the same time, since the very rare puncture that could still occur is often made more difficult to repair by the oozing slime. .

What make and model did you try Noggin? Their control systems vary considerably in their effects, so knowing which you disliked will help us advise.
