    Trying ebikes

I think we've all assumed the "next day" was an error. :) .

    I've been STOLEN, AGAIN!! :(

It is a perfectly apt analogy. You have posted on more than one occasion that there is no defence against the thief who wants to take something and you are right, there is no advice that can fit his question. In this case the answer is very clearly to give up e-biking Just look at cwah's...

    Trying ebikes

While trying first is always advisable, that buyer was hardly buying blind. A fair number of forum members have bought the model in question and been very happy with it. In addition, some of this forums most experienced members have recommended this model on many occasions from knowing it and...

    Kalhoff battery range indication

I don't think you have a problem Chris, I don't place huge reliance on what range meters say. The button on the battery has two functions: 1) When pressed the five LEDS give a readout of remaining current which can be used, using the same voltage check as the console range indication. 2) If...

    I've been STOLEN, AGAIN!! :(

Cwah has posted about the theft problem on several occasions having often been the victim. In addition he has many other problems with an e-bike, living in a flat with no storage for it and nowhere at work for it either. Clearly an e-bike is not the right solution for him, while public...

Has any other member got a Kalkhoff Sahel i360 Harmony ?

No, I certainly have never perceived you in that way Mike, my advice was as much generic as anything else, since I see so many taking the wrong approach. As we both know, courtesy costs nothing and often pays off handsomely. .

    Kalhoff battery range indication

No, they are not charged higher, in fact new batteries are usually received with around half charge in them and should be charged on receipt. Remaining capacity/range are calculated from the battery voltage, since as a battery's content is used, it's voltage gradually declines. This is not a...

    I've been STOLEN, AGAIN!! :(

Wrong guess John! Most of my friends are very much younger, in their 40s and 50s. Just one will be getting a pension in three years time, lives on the outer edge and drives a car. The others all use the Oyster card, and find the public transport convenience and not having the expense of...

Has any other member got a Kalkhoff Sahel i360 Harmony ?

Best advice is as ever the pleasant approach, no whining, complaining, demanding, just asking politely in a friendly manner for help. Try opening witn " Good morning, I wonder if you can help me". If you aren't pushy and complaining you'll find 50cycles are usually receptive and they are...

    I've been STOLEN, AGAIN!! :(

I agree with Old Tom, use public transport. Most of my friends live in inner and outer boroughs of London, one uses a cheap bike for short, brief trips and only one has a car, but they all use public transport for most of their travel and socialising. .

Has any other member got a Kalkhoff Sahel i360 Harmony ?

Yes, and they are willing to do it for you. Best to make an appointment first though, to ensure the right people are around. I don't know where you are, but ask about the possibility of someone checking out your bike first. Their staff and the two directors Scott and Tim get around quite a...

    Hovding Airbag for Cyclists

These do make a lot of sense and give far better protection than most bike helmets. Might be a bit sweaty on the one or two days of the year that summer occurs in Britain. .

Has any other member got a Kalkhoff Sahel i360 Harmony ?

It clearly sounds faulty, the Impulse unit it has is one of the more powerful crank motors. 50cycles can reset the power of the unit if the software setting is out. It could be worth ringing them on the offchance they may be able to send the necessary gear on loan with instructions...

    Omni Wheel by Evelo

The nearest I've ever seen to this was a Sun Cycles model which used a Tongxin nano front motor with a central handlebar console containing the controller and a small battery. That made the motor wiring simple, with a straight run without twisting. .

Cable locks usually incorporate the lock in one end. Some stirrup wheel locks have ancillary cables that plug into the wheel lock. .

    Best security for bike?

Nothing beats the determined experienced bike thief, but the combination of a D lock and a good cable lock gives good enough security against the casual thief. I don't know how easy it is to remove the Big Bear battery, but if it's very easy, take it with you into your friends place, probably...

First electric bike, few to compare up to £2000

The front wheel, since it has the BPM motor in it, but the difference isn't as large as might be thought since the rear has the derailleur cassette. However, the rear is easier to steal, having no wiring, and has wider use as a normal bicycle wheel. .
