Thoughts on the 11 tooth cog

Is it Legal to Ride a UK Throttle Equipped Pedelec in Europe?

Actually I used to do the first part of that on the Lafree, possible because the Panasonic system gives full thrust on a hard pedal pressure at a standstill. Of course once te leg was over I had to immediately follow with pedalling to sustain the power assist. Much better showing off was with...

Thoughts on the 11 tooth cog

That's not common with one chainring, being most likely to happen with triples when the chain is crossed right over from the two extremes. I very much doubt the 11 tooth cog could distort to bias the chainline. I've never tried your remedies but have used spacers on crank spiders to bias a...

Is it Legal to Ride a UK Throttle Equipped Pedelec in Europe?

My Lafree didn't have one or need one and at £850 new it was hardly expensive, even long ago when I bought it. Large numbers of both normal and e-bikes were far dearer at the time. However, I doubt the argument can be valid since a torque sensor in a pedelec is merely a foot operated throttle! .

Is it Legal to Ride a UK Throttle Equipped Pedelec in Europe?

The ownership doesn't matter, the name is given before it is sold to anyone so it indicates the intended usage by all and any carpenters. Therefore a good case exists for saying it's a simple plural with no possession involved, ergo, no apostrophe required or appropriate. In that it has...

Thoughts on the 11 tooth cog

While the efficiency loss of extreme cross-chaining is negligible, good practice is to change both ends to some extent to avoid it, and that's often referred to as "knowing how to use a derailleur". Doing that I'm sure will minimise the risk of sprocket jumping Mike. Shimano's sprocket tooth...

Is it Legal to Ride a UK Throttle Equipped Pedelec in Europe?

I'm not confident this would be wise. The opposing argument is the completeness of English to cope with all demands as it stands, resulting in it becoming the world's dominant language. The world is on course to becoming mono-liguistic eventually. That's a thoroughly good thing in my view...

Is it Legal to Ride a UK Throttle Equipped Pedelec in Europe?

Thanks Dave. I think you are right to infer there may be no exact answer. I've just noticed that those who obviously know better commonly repeat the incorrect form to illustrate what is meant, and I've followed that practice. .

Interesting Electric Road Bike with Bafang Mid Drive

Replacement at a high cost or live with it if the damage is superficial. Carbon frame/fork/wheel failures are sudden and catastrophic and repair is not really a safe option. .

Is it Legal to Ride a UK Throttle Equipped Pedelec in Europe?

That's being far, far too serious in being grammatically correct. The point I was making is that the common practice of being deliberately incorrect in writing "greengrocer's apostrophe" is a pun, both highlighting and illustrating the error in question. As such, it also explains the subject...

Two birth camper can be towed by cycle

The Sightseers movie was shown on Channel 4 on Wednesday 4th December last, so you might be able to see it on 4OD. Some movies have a "once only" licence for TV channels showings, so you may not be able to access it there, but a download should be available from other sources. .

Kalkhoff pro connect S 2010/2011 wiring help please

The only record I have of the wiring at the motor end is the photo below. However it had nine connections, not eight, and a different set of colours! It seems there may be several versions and I know the units themselves come in various internal versions:

I often get pleasure from seeing some of the spelling mistakes in here. This current thread title amused me: Two birth camper can be towed by cycle I wonder if conception was in the camper too? :D Of course a large number of spelling errors are being caused by predictive text, since so many...

Kalkhoff pro connect S 2010/2011 wiring help please

Panasonic don't publish any techical data on their units and I doubt even distributors have wiring details, so I think there's only two possibilities for you: The first is to order a new control unit with harness through a Giant hybrid dealer, the disadvantage being that Panasonic prices are...

Those particular battery-lit models used the Panasonic unit with voltage dropping by uneven chopping for it's integral low voltage lighting supply, which could only be used with tungsten filament bulbs, not with LEDs. Of course LEDs are far better than filament bulbs in many ways, though they...

I agree they have drag as John has also said. However, like him I can't perceive it in isolation when cycling with the Shimano one, bikes with it riding like a bike without one. Only a comparative test like the one you indicate shows up the drag that's there. .

    Caraok electric one wheel bicycle

I covered that in my reference to use on the pavement. Specifically for a powered vehicle to be used on the pavement it would have to comply with the pedestrian controlled vehicle regulation. The main two provisions are full control by the pedestrian in charge and a maximum powered speed of 4...
