    Nasty pothole

Re: the Russell Brand video: contrary to popular opinion, the UK government has always reported on COVID adverse reaction rates from very early on, i.e. Dec 2020 when the vaccine was first used. It's just that the average person wouldn't know where to look for it, but everyone can find Russell...

Oxford Products are usually very good quality, but I can't personally vouch for this specific item: https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/710816

Teen on e-bike dies after colliding with ambulance

Be careful not to generalise too much (BSB British Junior Supersport class):

    New ebike with ABS

Skimming the YouTube vid, it took until about 6m 30s before it was ridden. For about 15 seconds. Very slowly - a bit like an unpowered bike. I didn't listen tbh. 'Software-defined biking' means we have the freedom to re-use a software term here - eBike vapourware.

Comment on another sad e-scooter death

Because the market supports that price. And that's great - early adopters take a hit to have the latest and greatest, which means in 5 years time I may be able to afford (a secondhand) one. I'm just gobsmacked that the price of an average car is not far off the average annual wage. [I'll just...

    Cyclist Cop Dies

'it was "asking a lot" for drivers to realise there was a "bike on a trunk road at night". ' If the cyclist didn't have a rear light, then agreed - otherwise absolutely not. That detail is missing as far as I can tell, but I'd hazard a guess that a policeman would have their lights on at night...

Ebikemotion 35+ LCD display on Orbea Vibe

This bit of kit suggests you can have both the iWoc and the Ant running: https://wilier.com/en/int/eshop/equipment/ant-conversion-kit-mahle-x35-ebikemotion-system Yours is a more recent bike with both iWoc and the Ant in-built, so this dongle isn't needed of course, but I suggest asking...

    Vintage Italian ebike

These are trailing bottom link forks, I think. In general they're not in favour since they're heavier than telescopic forks and the damping mechanism was inferior (back in the day, it was mechanical damping - not fluid), which is why they disappeared from motorbikes. There are modern equivalents...

    Vintage Italian ebike

Harley fanboi discovers the bicycle. A nice styling exercise, and looks very well made but ultimately form over function. Just like a Harley. It's rear dropouts are much tidier than the Ital Ascot's.

Hall Sensors make PAS Sensors defunct?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hall_effect_sensor The image on that Wikipedia page is probably what your PAS is - a circle of magnets, say 10 or 12, passing by a Hall sensor, firing off impulses to tell your motor the pedals/wheels are rotating, and at what rate they're turning I'm sure there...

Do titanium handlebars absorb much shock?

I know you shouldn't trust an individual review, but the second one down says: 'Very well made, wide and strong. Only issue is that it’s very stiff and it transmits all the bumps to your body unless you’re got a suspension fork. ' I suspect you're paying for reduced weight rather than more...

Dangerous e-bike chargers found on Amazon and eBay

    > The charity looked at the mains plugs in the charging devices and said that all were so visually substandard that no test purchasing was necessary. An image (in the original article) of the offending mains plug would have been helpful. Or did I miss it?

    Best £1500-2000, derestrictable e-bike?

Very minor detail, but you won't be to stick it on a plane - it will have to go via ship only - because of the battery, so you might do better to sell it here and buy again in the US.

Grant Shapps wants a speed limit for cyclists

I think the problem here is that there's a bike lane marked, which falsely hints at there being enough space. The driver is staying well away from the cycle lane lines whilst passing (you can see he swings back in a little, having passed). He probably considers he's done a reasonable overtake...
