Hi All,

Just a quickie!!!!!

Is it possible to have an Alien 350w hub motor from a 26" wheel re-spoked into a 28" or 700c Rim?

If yes how will this effect the running of the motor ( top speed, pulling power etc).

If I'm being an idiot asking this then I apologize now!!

You can do that. It'll go 8% faster, but you'll have 8 % less torque for hill-climbing.

Depending on the overall diameter of both wheels with tyres fitted, the maximum assist speed will increase by between 5 and 7%. For example, if 20 mph before, it will be 21 or 21.5 mph afterwards.

It will also reduce the torque, pulling power, by the same percentage degree.

In other words, a very small change which you'll just about detect.

N.B. Post crossed with Dave's, but I stick to my figures! :p
