I'm not sure if this has been posted before but I've just seen this video on YouTube showing an eBike owner riding a 500W kitted bike on the roads. And he doesn't seem to think there's anything wrong in doing it and is openly dismissive of the law. Sigh.
It's people like this that give eBiking a bad name and risk us losing our present freedoms and relaxed approach to the eBike industry we enjoy at present. Sorry I had to have a little rant on his video page as there's clearly several people there who also think the law is to be ignored.
I know there's a lot of mixed views on the 15.5mph speed limit, but the law is the law. Putting videos up encouraging people to flout the law is irresponsible. Not to mention not very smart he's admitted to breaking the law and provided evidence!
If he's involved in an accident he could be in very serious trouble both legally and financially if he causes damage to someones vehicle or personal injury to someone.
