what are your first impressions of the 906?

I haven't seen it yet! After finding that derailers are a PITA to keep maintained I'm interested in hub gears, but it may be like shaft driven motorbikes where over long distances they end up needing just as much maintenance as chain driven.
I think I'd like the bigger frame as well, the 905 feels just a bit small for me. A long term test just around the time my battery dies* will be perfect.

* No sign of that yet.

The carbon hybrid 906 does not have a bigger frame I think?

it was the other new European model bikes David was talking about for the Dutch market, the alpino or something like that......

why is the throttle on the left hand side?

Not just abroad, some e-bikes are left hand throttle here, all the eZee range for example, and it makes more sense here for more than one reason.

For example, it allows for both trigger and twistgrip gear changers to be used, and it also permits right turn hand signals while maintaining throttle control, very useful when the right turn is on an upslope. I wouldn't want it any other way on my bikes.

another good point on top of Flecc's advice......I have had a "Mirrycle" mirror for ages and have not worked out how to fit it so perhaps the 906 I ordered will be the answer.......

Flecc's answers it. for leting the alfine gear lever works perfect, better in left side. Never mind, it's wonderful in left side too! By the way, if some folks found the 905 bikes's grip is a bit small, the 906xc is wide enought for "big hand" people!

Right, the 906xc has it's own special speedo, the figure will be very accurate!!! 6 levels pedal assist functions in LCD! I believe you will like it! After the Eurobike show, I believe David will get a details explaination of the 906xc and other Alpino bikes.(Thanks for your patient!). He told me the Europe mainland traders liked Wisper bikes very much! Hope to have more europe mainland members in this forum! You are not alone!

Right, the 906Alpino will have the 700C wheels and larger frame, but not carbon handle bar, seatpost and carbon/alloy frame but white frame and other parts. I assume that the 906Alpino will be presented at UK cycle show too(please confirm with David, I'm not 100% sure)!

Thanks for filling in whilst I was in Germany.

We will have the Alpino and the 906xc prototype at the show in London and they will all have the new sealed bottom bearing. Unfortunately these bearings cannot be retro fitted as the frame has had to be altered as noted bu Flecc.

We are expecting 50 x 906xc Tourers in November/December in time for Christmas and yes it has the 26" wheels.

I had my first ride on the new 905se Sport 500W in Germany and WOW it shifted my huge bulk amazingly well , those of less ample proportions we completely blown away , this a very quick machine, it is geared to a maximum of 20 so the hill climbing is superb and the acceleration is insane, we have also fitted a 56 tooth chain wheel (also on the 906xc) so the cadence at 20 mph is really slow, and cool! We are having a new controller made so it will fit inside the controller box and the bike will be available next year at about £1650.00 FOR USE ON PRIVATE LAND ONLY. We will be applying for type approval which will take about 12 months, then it will be available as a moped so crash helmets, insurance and road license (free) will be necessary.
