A bit of topic but I would REALLY value your advice.

does being very low down not install a bit of fear factor. I think i would be very worried about not being visible or do you have the big aerial type thing with a scull and crossbones flag ?.
Maybe in the future i might try one out.....

I was a bit wary at first but after reading other peoples accounts and after seeing for myself how much room I'm given I'm no longer worried about it. I do, however, watch drivers all around me like a hawk

Here's Prowler with his big England flag.

I was doing OK'ish weight going down - at least moving in the right direction!

But being laid up with the lower back problem for 4 months and then the foot infection I picked up in Thailand has knocked me right back...I have a wedding to go to this weekend and cant get into any of my suits:(
Any of your suits??? how many you got??? I have one suit,a dark blue cotton type from M&S I bought it for a nephews funeral, I got married in it(the second time) and wore it two weeks ago for my latest gransons christening and I`ll probably be buried in it:D

What a waste - leave it to your grandson to save him having to buy one.

Great Piccie Vikki. I had a completely different image in mind. Superb looking bike - real head turner. Added to my perfect road combination list...

Hi, Barnowl. You've got me all kinds of curious now as to what was in you imagination :)

Please deliver up the imaginary goodies and enlighten me :D

Best regards.

Must admit that was the kind of thing I imagined.

Vikki's trike is very very cool though. If I had one I'd probably refer to it as a 3 wheeled recumbent. Presumably it has similar aerodynamics as a 2 wheeled recumbent?

Edit : ah now I look again I see she does refer to it as a recumbent trike.
The common name for these two wheels forward recumbent trikes is a Tadpole, for obvious reasons.

There's a local chap with a trike of a similar design to the one that Mussels posted. It's a tad more sporty looking with 27" wheels, drops, thin tyres and no mudguards but, yes, that is the sort of image I had in mind.

I'm genuinely impressed with Prowler and the way you've kitted him(?) out. Nice one Vikki.

Thanks, Barnowl :D Crikey, an upright trike against a Wisper, you must have thought I was barking, hehehehehe.

Rode home from work yesterday and used Thursdays ride home as a Course so I could use the Virtual Partner on my Edge.

By the time I got to the top of the Eastern Road I was 0.22 miles ahead of my yesterday's self. By the time I'd got half way down the road (it's long) I had almost lost that advantage. I was thinking it was the third day in a row I'd ridden Prowler and the third day is usually harder. Then I noticed I had quite a headwind whereas yesterday I had more of a tail wind.

Got to my favourite rest spot near the end of the Eastern Road and I was 133 feet behind. I pushed it a bit after that and was surprised to see that I was 279 feet ahead when I got home. Couldn't figure that one out until I remembered that after howling along on Thursday I rewarded myself with a slow pootle home through town.

So, I thought I'd done better only to have memory tell me I'd ultimately done worse :( But not by much, ride was 1 minute longer than the day before and this ride had been in a headwind. So ultimately, a good ride :D Difference in average speed on the day before was 0.4 mph. Thursday: 11.9, Friday: 11.5.

Many thinks.

Vikki.

i have just invested my hard earned cash on a garmin edge 500...hopefully it should help me improve fitness further,,,racing against previous times on various courses. All i need now is the weather to play its part and i will be able to try it out.Its only rained for 95% of july in this grim part of the country !

That's a nice Edge you got there, CB. It will certainly chart your improvements. There's something rather neat about being able to go through your ride on the computer and seeing how you did and where you've been. Have fun with it :D

Best regards.
