They do work ok and a number of members have used them on their Kalkhoff bikes. However the Woods/Dunlop valve is more resistant to pumping air than the Schrader type so changing the tubes is the better option that many members have adopted. It would certainly be my choice.

Does anyone have experience of using adaptors for Woods to Schrader valves? How good are they?
Recently, I saw those adaptors advertised but couldn't think why anyone would bother. I have Woods/Dunlop valves on two of my ebikes and can pump air into them easily using either my track pump or a mini-pump. They hold air just as well as my Presta-equipped bikes so I see no reason to change.

I quite like the idea that they were used extensively on older British bikes and seem to be regarded as a British invention, (by Dunlop himself, the pneumatic tyre man) whereas Schrader was a German in New York and Presta's origins are disputed although many believe them to be of French origin.

Some contributors to the 'proper' cycling forums get quite animated over valves but having tried all those major valve types, frankly I couldn't give a toss what's on my rims so long as they work reliably. I suppose if I were one of those 'proper' cyclists, riding on skinny tyres, I would need the skinny Presta valves.....those few grams saved could be crucial in the mountain climbs!:)
