I have the Aurora which is 350 watts and delivers great performance, I am 16.5 stone and the Aurora has taken me up any hill I have met so far, so I can only expect that the Apollo is quite something.

If it's a golden motor it will be a direct drive.
So top speed will be very good whilst hill climbing with probably quite similar to the bpm so long as you keep in on the boil anyway.

Hi
I looked at the aurora to begin with but the frame size is really big and with an inside leg of
29 and half will expect it too big !
Hope you don't mind what is your inside leg ? or even your height ? I'm 5ft 10 in
The Aurora is a really good buy and would suit me down to the ground but as I say I think toooo big.
I really need to sit on the Aurora but of course they are way up in Scotland .
Could i have a sit on yours ?
I live in Devizes Wiltshire near Swindon
Kind regards
John

Some people with the Aurora swap the seat over to a non-suspension seat and seat post which lowers the height so normal mere mortals can sit on it.

Just to let you know.

Aurora size

Hi John, I am 6' 3'' with an inside leg of 33 to 34 my seat is 4.5 inches above the crossbar and as someone has said changing to a non suspension seat post will lower the saddle 2" approx, I live near Wigan jct 27 on the M6 which is probably to far for you, if not you are very welcome to try the bike out. I have spoken to a friend of mine who is 5' 10" but with an inside leg of 31" who has ridden my Aurora and he rode it on my seat height, I asked his opinion and he thought you would have no problems with the size of the bike, hope this helps you a little. John

Thanks for that John.
Perhaps the bike would be ok for me after all , although I still would like to try before I buy as it were!
I am thinking of taking up your kind offer of trying you bike out, perhaps i can let you know in a couple of days or so. Date and time at your convenience.
Shame Alien have not got a showroom down this end of the country.
Must dig out my map!
Kind regards John

Its a 21" AFAIK, same as the Alien GSII so could you not try a 21" bike locally?

Hi John I have measured the distance from the pedal at it,s lowest point to the top of the seat tube and it measures 27.5", from this I guess your saddle will be at the lowest point without suspension post. I always find that when sat on the saddle your leg length is greater than your inside leg measurement. You will be welcome to try my bike at a time that suits you. I am retired and apart from my Bowling commitments I am free most times. Regards John

Just did a quick check on google we are 156 mls away from each other.

The Edit function only exists for about 2 hours after posting John. If you send a PM including the link to that post to the administrator Russell Scott from this contact page, he will be able to remove it for you.
