Another battery question.

New Forest. Hants.
The Powabyke has three power indicator lights on the throttle handle.

When the (new) batteries are fully charged, all three light up for about three-five miles, then I get two lights, for about a further ten or so miles.

When light number two begins to 'flicker', I put the batteries on charge.

(Light number three never flickers. It just goes out.)

Is this about right or should I let the batteries go right down occasionally?

No, you don't need to let these lead acid batteries fully discharge, they are very suitable for cyclic use, charging at any time or charge level.

have you got the new powabyke ? the old type one doesn't have throttle lights so it sound like you have a new one with a bottle type lithium battery

Stranger has an early model, below posted previously:

I found mine 'by chance'. Five years ago now.

There was a Powabyke in the window of the local dealer, so I went in to have a closer look at it.

I thought it was a bit pricy so I went back home and looked up Powabykes in case there was a cheaper way to buy one.

One of the entries that came up was a Powabyke shopper on e-bay.

No-one else seemed to want it, poor little thing, so I bid for it.

I paid £250 for the machine and £40 for a courier to bring it down to me and we have been inseperable eversince.

Hi Carpetbagger, Stranger has a shopper bike which does have the 3 LED lights on the throttle. Charge the battery after every use. This will keep the battery in tip top condition.
