Following the news of the insolvency of AVE bikes in Germany, here's yet another failure there, showing that overall trading is far from being in good health. In the depressed post recession market throughout Europe it seems only the strongest businesses can survive and any hint of weakness can be terminal:

I saw that flecc but can't think of any of the bikes they do. Any names come to light?

Apparently need to register to access the site. Wouldn't care to give us a summary, would you flecc?

PantherWerke was supposed to takeover AVE.
What about continuing support for past and existing customers of AVE?
Should dealers who stock AVE bikes warn potential customers of the risks?

We would look after any customers which bought AVE bikes off us. If you had a problem with electrical components then Bosch are responsible for this. Most other parts would be other brands like Shimano. The only area where you might be concerned would be the frame (though problems are rare). Either way the retailer you bought the bike off is responsible. Personally I am confident AVE will be fine and the sooner any uncertaincy is cleared up the better.

Yes, Hero could be a saviour for any struggling Western e-bike company, they own A2B for example, and seem determined to expand in this market.
