There are no guarantees they will write what we'd all like, but wot ever their views it raises public awareness of e-bikes. So i smile

Right on the nail, that! If there was a guarantee they would write what someone else wanted there would be no point in reading them.

A good friend of mine was motoring editor of the Sunday Times some years ago. He quickly found out that most letters complaint amounted to one thing. "You did not confirm that the car I bought was the best one, so you must be biased".

The point of me writing in response to the article was to highlight the errors in his understanding of this bike, and to bring a more balanced view to the table, not to confirm that the bike is the best. He is incorrect in the points he wrote about and I have corrected based on my own personal experience. At no point did I try and say that this is the 'best' bike therefore he is incorrect, I thought I backed my own points with my own personal experience well, so where is the problem with that?

I get the feeling that there is a lot of negative attitude on the forum towards the Haibike and other Bosch powered bikes for some reason, I wonder why?

For anybody's info, there are some negatives to the xDuro FS, the brakes being the first, they work well initially then the pads fade completely, I've googled about the Tektro brakes and this is a common issue, they also can be annoyingly noisy, to the point where I will upgrade once the bike is out of warranty. I guess budget components don't always save you money! Yes there could be more range, 25 miles in extreme off-road is not bad though, yes it could be faster, but there is not much point on a bike designed for off-road use anyway. That's all I can think of for now. :D

Edit: I must add that my wife's xDuro's brakes are performing fine so far, I have ridden much more extreme terrain and given the bike a much harder time than she has done. I can only conclude that my brakes are either at fault or fade with very hard use, for normal everyday use they will probably be fine, I'm not sure which way to fall with this just yet, I have replaced the pads with different branded versions to see how they perform, but judging from others comments on the internet for these brakes my experience is not unusual.

This came about as a result of some hype about the unit in the first place. I've noticed a similar reaction on previous occasions when a bike or motor appears to have been hyped, basically a cynical response. The Storck Raddar has suffered a little of the same, and for the same reason.

My point was, he gave his opinion, you gave yours. I didn't why that made him biased. I ride electric bikes too but I don't think that people who see it differently from me are biased.

As for negative attitude against Bosch, if you are asking the best part of £3000 for a bicycle with an electric motor, people are bound to ask questions but I'm not sure that amounts to negative attitude, just healthy scepticism in my view.
