Hi all, the plug on my battery charger has worn quite badly due to constant use, it's difficult to get a good connection now. I can't find anything that looks the same in any of the retailers. Anyone seen this type??SANY0007.jpgSANY0009.jpg

I could replace socket and plug in extremis but it will make a big job of it.

Hi Auldgit,

It looks similar to the figure of 8 mains leads used on some Laptop power supplies.
They do not have a polarizing pin like yours but might fit the mating half.

Pretty cheap on ebay if you can not find someone you know who might have one to try for size:

Hi Shemozz, yes it's similar but I've tried the one I have and it won't fit. I've been on the lookout for months now but yet to see anything that fits the bill.

Cheers AG

What about the manufacture of the bike ?
Hi Cakey, the original retailer doesn't import/have dealings with the manufacturer of the bike now, it's a Headway bike and battery but I don't rate my chances of success there very highly. I would assume the charger is sold as a unit anyway, even if available.

If your going to replace the plug & socket then it would be much better to use a polarised style ( saves things going bang, lol) either C5 or iec style

These just do a search on iec plug easily available and used on a lot of batteries and kettles!

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=iec+plug&hl=en&tbo=u&tbm=isch&source=univ&sa=X&ei=yw_3UKPkDYfL0QWymoEY&sqi=2&ved=0CFQQsAQ&biw=1680&bih=906

Or these again do a search on C5 plug not quite so popular

https://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=C5+plug&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.r_qf.&bvm=bv.41018144,d.d2k&biw=1680&bih=906&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=kA_3UIjUOZKZ0QXt1oHgBQ

Obviously you would only need to wire two of the pins. Just make sure you match them up correctly!

Regards

Jerry
