Surprised to find Halfords online orders for collection at stores as cheapest for some bits I needed in the last few days.

Not relevant for most, but I needed 11 speed chain after a 1,700km jaunt, and the Shimano Cues LG500 chain, 138 links, only £15.99. I bought enough to keep me going for a while.

Also good reductions on some Cues cassettes, so I bought a 10 speed 11-43T for my trike, which is about as big as I dare go for on its 20" rear wheel.

Cues is supposed to be longer lasting in mid-drive ebike applications, I don't know how much better if at all the LG500 chain is. I swapped out a 900km LG500 chain before setting off and it showed 0.3% elongation. The SRAM PC1110 I put on new for this part of this trip, my usual because always available fairly cheaply, has done those 1,700km, and won't work in 11T top gear any more. I'll measure it when I change it next week.

For any 8 speederists out there.... At times, it can be difficult to source SRAM 11-32T 8 speed cassettes. Genuine most likely because they're being stocked by Amazon themseves, and £16.99 is a good price. I've ordered two.

The internet is rejecting my money! Amazon can't deliver these until the 25th June, despite claiming they can deliver next day. First the "Sale" AliExpress truing stand with dials, now these "Sale" Amazon SRAM cassettes, seems these "Sales" are speculative offers designed to entrap and use my money to make more money for weeks or months. I could have bet on the falling price of gold. Don't order these cassettes from Amazon - if they have them ins stock, they're in Amazon's moonbase warehouse awaiting pickup by Blue Origin. I've emailed jeff@amazon.com about this, he reads his emails. Sent me £20 last I complained.

It's the hand of God preventing you from wasting your money on stuff that you don't need, when, instead, you could use it to help the poor. I'll send my PayPal by PM so you can save your soul before it's too late. No donations will be rejected. Alleluja!

Not UK legal but PSWpower has 26" wheel 48v Bafang G020 hub rear cassette kits with KT controller for £160 + £6 delivery. Add in a 48v battery and an old 26" MTB off Facebook and you have a cheap (not UK legal !) Ebike

Tariffs must surely be denting trade on their Americanocentric website with US buyers, and although I'm not sufficiently interested in installing a hub otor, I'm wondering why the gubbins PSWPower don't offer UK legal 250W rated Bafang motored kits without battery? This is engraved G020.250.DC, but it isn't in stock and not available to buy ready build into a wheel.

That's a CANbus kit. You might as well buy a ready made bike from Halfords if that's what you want.

If that A12 really has 26" wheels it is huge.

The A01 is ugly enough to never get stolen, and the A11 looks ready to snap.

No wonder they are reduced.

I always thought these looked pretty cool for £400, 36v 10ah battery. Not sure what 14" wheels are like to ride on !

Frisky, is perhaps the word.

Might look like a clown bike, unless ridden by a compact person.

Watch this..
That lad's parents need to be put before a court and should be punished and afterwards supervised. Children need protection from such 'carers'.

The young lad is not at fault. He has been allowed to ride that thing and could have been much more hurt than he was. Poor little bu gger. He will likely turn out a yobbo given the lack of parenting he has been subject to. Every time I see that video and hear him crying, I feel sorry for him.

I agree the lad is a victim possibly of a faulty brake sensor perhaps just of ignorance, but the vid came to my attention discussing the DYU style bikes elsewhere and was shared as evidence of them not being the safest bikes available.

I cant agree with your deeper assessment of theoretical problems though. Who knows who left an e-bike accessible to a preteen? or he could have been peer pressured into riding it out of shot up the rd, My first public embarrassing lurch n stall of a moped with a clutch was after such peer pressure (thankfully as otherwise it may have ended with a gatepost like the kid above). Or he could be a deceptively young looking 14?

In the review it says the max motor power is 240w and max speed with pedalling is 12-13 mph on the flat but it does mention it's twitchy handling

Good morning Larkbox.

I'd say that lad is about eight or nine, judging by my grandchildren's growth and demeanour when hurt. I think there is a very good chance that his parents provided that bike for him. I have seen this kind of stuff with small kids of that age whizzing about regularly on electric scooters provided for them. The same kids, day after day, riding quite rapid electric vehicles which are totally illegal.
