You found one! That's brilliant! Actually states it's UART on the listing. You now have a spare BBS01B motor again. Will this will end up on another of your conversions, after which you'll go looking again for another spare motor?

Great price too. Is 20% VAT added to that price on the AliExpress downloadable invoice? Looking at Trustpilot reviews, Quidco can't give you retailer cashback until the retailer has paid Quidco. If Quidco wait for the £20 bonus to be paid by AliExpress, you might not receive that either? Looks a good price to me, even without Quidco.

I'm gonna keep this one sealed until a failure on either the of 2 bbs01 bikes I run. Like a cheap insurance policy, might never need it, but good to have handy as one of my existing motors is probably nudging 5k miles now
Unless of course spot a lightweight 20" wheeled folder bike deal ideal for conversion..I like the idea of being able to get over to Europe for bike trips around Belgium via the Eurostar (you can take folders in a bag as luggage free) and not ferries from Dover.

Motor has been shipped, will test when I get to check programming options, hopefully nothing locked down.

Quidco is a bit of a lottery, most of the time tracks and pays out but not guaranteed. Either way not too fussed. If I can dodge the VAT then even better. Just glad it's a UART motor, was expecting to pay a premium as stocks run low so glad I nabbed one at a good price

More bang with smaller wheels! Are you looking for one with disc brakes? Bound to be oodles of choices. Myself, I'm intrigued by the Dahon Impulse - it's steel frame bounched around by 720W BBS01B, would cope for longer than my Dahon Helios P8's well used much bounced and twice crashed (at least) aluminium frame of the same shape, also with a reinforcement bar over the hinge, but the impulse's SRAM dual drive could suffer? Also, the Impulse has rim brakes (which I'm quite content with, when they're perfectly adjusted), and is a couple of kg heavier than my Helios. The Impulse converted would probably be too heavy for you. All up <25kg is fine for me. Rare, but the odd Impuse turns up very occasionally, at non-impulse buy prices. Rear dropout of the Dualdrive Impluse is reportedly 135mm BTW (there is another Impulse version without Dualdrive with narrower dropouts), suitable I guess for a rear hub motor, which would be a lighter conversion.

My latest haul from Topbikekit for a grand total of £201 inc. shipping. The cassette side-plate is for my Q128 motor, as it's become a bit intermittent after 11 years and I can't be bothered to keep pouring the oil in. I also got a couple of BBs for about £4 each. The rest is for a project.
