Which SIM router and aerial(s) does your son use?

https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/4g-routers.47655/
No idea sorry. He has good coverage at the marina the boat is moored at.

I should make it clear - when he goes to Cyprus he flies and lives in Airb&B

He has talked about sailing there. I told him not to be so stupid and keep sending him links to stories about killer whales sinking yachts in the Bay of Biscay. He doesn't listen to me. Since he is 45, that is no surprise.

The perfect frame for a conversion:
Oh boy, perfect, and he's willing to post it.

Couldn't come at a worse time. This month alone, Boiler packed up (new PCB and transformer required), car MOT and service, yesterday the tumble dryer finally gave up the ghost, I ordered a new one last night.

The last thing I need right now is a new project.

I had better stay away from any booze this weekend, booze and eBay auctions is a dangerous mix.

But thanks for posting this.

Yep, 26" wheels, disk mount, square taper BB, 1 1/8" parallel steerer tube, room for a big chain ring, rear suspension, large size (or medium/large), room for a downtube battery.

I'm already out of disposable income this month and had to put the tumble dryer on a credit card.

I can just imagine the conversation with the Mrs if a huge bike frame sized box turns up on the doorstop.

Very tempting, but it probably would cost me much more in the end than buying whole bike. Luckily 26" wheels are to small for my liking. Can't have same wheels as my 10 years old daughters, can I? ;)

Also ancient geometry, but for road use it is a great buy.

BTW Pauls has some interesting offers on full sus bikes, but not ideal for conversions.

Those sort of modern bikes are very difficult to convert because of the small chainwheels, lack of space for a crank motor, PF bottom brackets, wide chainstays and lack of space for the battery.

Yes. They are rather for use as intended (non electric). I will try to buy one for my son, but first need to convince authorities.

As there are no bids on it dont think there wont actually be any and popping £150 on in the dying seconds will secure it.
When I bid of stuff i really want and they have zero bids i'll bid the max im willing to go to, even for example is the opening bid is £200 and my topped out max would be £300, in those dying seconds my bid will be £300

booze and eBay auctions is a dangerous mix.
Yeah, know that. I got a little bit tiddly and woke up the next morning the proud owner of a 900 quid drum sander.

Looks very good. I like the combined brakes/shifters. I have them on my own bikes.
Rear mech alone is about 50 quid, wheels an easy hundred and the dual control shifters/brakes sell at about 150, frame about 150-200(depending on year) XT brakes, fox fork.cranks etc
All in all worth a lot more than 170 quid.

if its legit thats a tasty bargain

Won't be a bargain with so many eyeballs on it now, it'll sell for millions.

I've only ever won by bidding as much as I can possibly bear to part with, 3 seconds before the end of the ebay auction, allowing no time for anyone else to increase their maximum bid and autobid it away.

I got that one for £120 plus postage. I have a couple of good donor hardtails that I'll swap all the bits over from, including an AKm 128 freewheel motor, which is a torque monster.

Damn it, that's sold now. I thought the auction ended tomorrow afternoon. I have been prevaricating and was thinking of putting in a last second bid.

Oh well, I doubt I'll get a better opportunity, I'd better resign myself to be happy with what I have, which is a suspension seatpost rather than a proper rear suspension. #firstworldproblems
