Hi, I am new to this and getting more confused by the minute.

Whilst considering options of bikes, batteries and motors I have just been told by a dealer that a battery from a Kudos King (36V 10ah LiFePO4 rear carrier battery & rear motor) could not be installed on a Kudos Sport (36v 9ah LiFePO4 frog type battery & front motor) due to the "different fittings/controllers" etc.

(I used to think an 'amp was an amp' and a 'volt was a volt', but in these days of electronic circuitry, clever controllers seem to be able to spot one coloured volt from one battery from a different coloured one from another - if you see what I mean!)

Does anyone know what might be causing an incompatibility that I hade not accounted for as it may also affect my project which is to connect a 36v 10ah battery to an Amped Bike direct drive rear wheel kit.

Thanks
Alfazzr

I think the key words are ‘could not be installed’. They mean it would be physically difficult due to the positioning of the batteries and controllers on the different bikes. Electrically there would be no problem.

Nothing to affect your project provided you can install and connect up all the parts.

I am pretty sure an ebike 24v/36v or 48v controller are what they say and that any respective 24v, 36v or 48v ebike battery would work with them fine providing, as stated, you can match the connectors.

The only difference in the controllers would be the motor side connections being brushed, brushless with halls and no halls but the battery side remains the same no matter what.

Yes, the thing to look out for is brushed vs brushless, obviously voltage but there is some tolerance you can play with and max current other than that its the connectors that cause the biggest headache if swapping stuff about. Sensorless controllers can be fitted to motors with sensors but not the other way 'round...

Hi Alfazzr,

eZee bikes have retained the same battery mounting braket for every model in the range so every eZee battery is interchangeable with every eZee bike.
