your bikes are well respected for their intrinsic value but I wouldn't ask the forum for their view on how they look.

But I am asking how they look in comparison to other bikes from China?

firstly, I don't worry too much about looks. I am more concerned with performance and reliability. In these areas, your bikes are very well placed. However, if you want to know how I think your bikes look in comparison with bikes from other advertisers on this forum like Kudos, A2B, Ebco, Burisch etc. coming from China, I think they look quite dated.

Looks are always subjective but as a former owner of an eZee I would never describe them as handsome. Reliable, tough and certainly good value but in some need of a style makeover.

It's interesting that you only mention four brands out of many. I think that eZee would be happy to ranked as fifth when it comes to a subjective area such as style alone based on comments by a couple of forum members.

we are of course talking about the Ezee bikes, the Ansmann are reasonably good looking. Take the Ezee Torq for instance, I can see the benefit of a two-legged stand but it marrs the look of the bike, why not offering it as an option? Also, brilliant lacquer paint finish! that just says 'I am old'.
As we were talking about batteries, take the example of the BH Neo. Without its curvy shaped battery, the BH Neo would just be another Chinese bike.

A few gas pipes welded together has a village smithy authenticity which some may find appealing.

The Grace MX was like that, I did find it appealing.

The Pletscher twin leg stand is an option, normally the Torq has a single leg stand.
The bike above is stylish but it is only available with a 9Ah battery and appears to defy gravity staying upright with no visible means of support.
The Torq along with other eZee models is available with four battery battery capacity options from 11 to 28Ah.

If you’re interested why not post a poll and we can give our opinions? I think they are fairly dated looking but they do have a certain charm. But I ride a Kalkhoff Agattu which is equally not a conventional looker.

I find it a handsome beast though, and it reminds me of a WW1 destroyer or maybe a Brough Superior. Not flash and curvy and plasticky modern, but long and sleek and fit for purpose. Form following function not styling.

Being perfectly honest I doubt if eZee bikes would win a beauty contest, but what I find interesting is when it comes to aesthetics is the other Chinese brands that haven't been mentioned.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder so I don't think you can compare the look of bikes in that way. That's like asking what is the best looking car or the best looking motorbike. Ezee bikes are not the most attractive bikes in my opinion but they are a well known and well loved brand and im guessing the sales figures would confirm this.

bike design is about clothing the bike shap
Name them
Trex,
I obviously have my personal opinions but feel it would be unbusinesslike for me to name names.
I would much rather see what non trade members including your good self have to say.

I think most customers buy on:

1. Performance (range, climbing power)
2. Price
3. Warranty (length, quality of support)
4. frame shape, colour and bike decals
5. Accessories (hub gear, hydraulic brakes, puncture proof tyres, mudguards, rack, propstand)

You and Hatti do well on 1, 2, 3. Both are not good on 4. Woosh spend too much on 5.
Kudos, Oxygen & Wisper are good on all 5, perhaps less well on 2.

My question was not about me, but simply about the eZee brand and specifically about appearance in comparison to other Chinese brands?
Regarding No.4 in your list eZee have wide choice of colours, some brands offer no choice.
eZee offer several models, but most are based on the classic tried and tested diamond or stepthru style frame like the majority of bicycles.
Every eZee bike has decals to identify the brand and model, some brands that I have seen appear to have no decals whatsoever.
As for No.5 eZee bikes are available with both derailleur or hub gears depending on the model, all have Schwalbe puncture resistant tyres, all have mudguards, lights, rack and propstands. Two exceptions are the Raptor with no rack and the E-Rex Fatbike. which doesn't have a rack or mudguards.

which Chinese brands are you talking about? I don't know who imports Longwise for example.
for most of us, it's the vendors' name on their bikes.

If you want my honest opinion, John, I think Ezee bikes like the Forza and Torq are amongst the worst looking bikes out of all the normal Chinese ones, which is a shame, because a blind person would love them.

Bicycles are primarily functional and always have been, simply because their need for efficiency far outweighs any benefit beauty might give.

The eZee designs have always emphasised functionality to customer's benefit. Some examples:

The standardised battery mounting which enables long term users to always benefit from the latest battery technology and have any capacity in that position from 396 to 1008 Wh.

The first with tilting saddles for instant battery removal.

Their own powerful, high torque and very reliable motor.

High puncture resistance tyres as standard.

And anyway, the aesthetics of any technology are as much dependent on what we are used to as on any artistic merit. Some of the more practical apects of functional e-bike design demand differences from "normal" bikes which can jar against expectations. That doesn't mean they are worse, they are just different.
